Wherever you are, people need people 🧡 This Black History month, our Black Country hospice put something extra special together in memory of the late poet and local legend, Benjamin Zephaniah. With their talents combined, they turned his moving poem 'People Need People' into a song for their Makaton Choir to perform - which is such a wonderful tribute to Benjamin and his legacy with Acorns 🧡

Thank you to Röhlig Logistics, who came to our Black Country hospice last week to present us with a donation of £5,000. Their contribution will make all of the difference to the children and families we care for 🧡 Thank you so much!

Thanks to a local supporter Acorns Makaton Choir has some brand new threads! Thank you to Regent Distributions Ltd who've kindly gifted some branded shirts to Acorns, so that our Makaton Choir can perform in style 🎻🎼 Makaton is a simplified form of sign language that's frequently used at Acorns to aid with communication. It helps our nurses understand a child's wants and needs when vocalisation isn't possible, and with how important it is to caring for many children it's wonderful to be able to share it with others through choir 😇

What a fantastic evening with a staggering £3,700 raised for Acorns Children’s Hospice! Thank you to Unity Trust Bank who recently hosted a quiz night at Bank Birmingham restaurant. The quiz was well attended by professionals across the city who came together for an evening of fun, facts, and fundraising! Special thanks go to the Midlands Regional Director who did an amazing job as quiz master 👏🏻 Thank you, Unity Trust Bank, we are incredibly grateful for your continued support 🧡

This week is #BabyLossAwarenessWeek, and our thoughts are with all of the moms and dads who have lost an infant 🧡 This week we remember those little ones, and remind ourselves how important it is to talk about them and share their memory with others.
