This #TransformationTuesday, we're taking a look back at our project at Mytchett Steps in Surrey. Over a six month period in late 2022 Taziker, on behalf of Ringway, dismantled the existing timber staircase connecting Mytchett Road Place to the canal towpath and installed a brand new steel structure, including FRP treads and GRP balustrades in its place. 💫 Transforming Manvers Footbridge in Rotherham Manvers Way Footbridge is a cable-stayed steel bridge carrying a footpath across A633 Manvers Way, Wath-upon-Dearne. The overall span is 35m and the bridge deck is supported by eight high tensile steel cables, connected to an A-frame pylon. The footbridge connects a sports field and residential area to the country park on the north side. On behalf of Breheny Civil Engineering, Taziker were contracted to remove the existing paint system and provide a new paint system over the entire structure including the pylon, steel deck elements and metal parapets. This #ThrowbackThursday we're taking a look back at Taziker's major conservation project on the iconic Iron Bridge in Shropshire in 2018. Iron Bridge had suffered over the years and cracks were found in the structure. This was due to stresses in the ironwork dating from the original construction as well as ground movement in the area. An earthquake had also caused damage in the late 19th century. A huge well done to Taziker's Nicky Willetts who completed her charity sky dive on Sunday in Lancaster! 👏 Braving heights of 15,000 feet, Nicky has raised an incredible £855 for Cash for Kids, which will help the charity to continue their fantastic work in enriching the lives of children and young people including in the upcoming festive season❤️

Undertaking civil engineering works in Glasgow.   On behalf of our client AMEY, Taziker carried out enhancement works at Polmadie Depot.   The scope involved construction of a new 3500m2 concrete hardstanding, including drainage works comprising extensive below ground attenuation.   We also constructed both the winter vehicle garage and wash bay facility, inclusive of M&E services which ensures the team at AMEY are ready to service the local road network during the winter periods for years to come. It was a pleasure to welcome T Level Engineering students from Burnley College to our Blackburn fabrication facility last Friday.   Rebecca Roberts (Social Value Advisor) and Shaun Marsden (On-Site Engineering Director) hosted an informative session about Taziker's fabrication capabilities, as well as work experience and apprenticeship routes. Following the session, Carl Tonge (Foreman) then showed students around the fabrication shop and explained more about the work currently underway 💪.   The visit ended with a fun, competitive challenge as the students created their own rollercoasters using card, marbles and tape.
