Flannery Plant Hire is proud to collaborate with HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd, Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture, London Borough of Camden, and The Euston Partnership to deliver a skills bootcamp aimed at upskilling Camden residents! We’re thrilled to be working alongside HS2, Skanska Costain STRABAG (SCS), Camden Council, and the Euston Partnership to launch a brand-new skills bootcamp at HS2’s Euston site. This intensive two-week programme is aimed at fast-tracking Camden and inner-city residents into careers as plant machinery operators, equipping them with the training and accreditation needed to kickstart a career in construction. Based on Hampstead Road in Camden, the facility offers hands-on training with machinery such as rollers, dump trucks, and excavators, complemented by classroom-based learning at the nearby Euston Skills Centre. The bootcamp is funded by the Department for Education and supports individuals over the age of 19 who are unemployed or looking for a career change. Aaron Davis, our Safety and Skills Director, highlighted the importance of this initiative: “By leveraging our expertise in delivering high-quality, hands-on training, we are equipping participants with the practical skills, confidence, and certifications they need to access meaningful sustainable employment opportunities in the construction industry.” Upon completing the bootcamp, participants will receive a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card for the machinery they’ve trained on, along with a guaranteed interview for a plant operator role. Around 30 local residents are expected to benefit from this programme, helping to address skills shortages while leaving a lasting legacy for the local community.
