Animation UK is the leading trade association that represents the animation sector in the UK. In partnership with UK Screen Alliance, who represents the visual effects (VFX), TV & film studios, and post-production sectors, we are the membership organisations for over 190 leading employers and our primary purpose is advocacy for our member companies, representing their views to government and related screen sector bodies. #IndustryNews: Following the success of the New Waves 2023 programme, the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), the Institut français, Unifrance, Animation UK and the British Film Institute (BFI) are once again collaborating on a series of B2B networking meetings between French and UK producers during the London Film Festival. The meetings will take place on 12 October 2024 at the Institut Français in London. This opportunity is for UK producers with demonstrable interest in expanding their networks and collaborating with their French producer counterparts; the BFI will prioritise those who demonstrate a relevant track record, and who have a project (or projects) in active development that could be structured as co-productions with France. There will be a spotlight on animation for this year's delegation, with a portion of the participating French producers being from the animation sector. To be eligible for this opportunity, you must: - be a producer working in the UK screen sector on a freelance basis or in a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) that is not substantially owned by a non-UK entity, broadcaster, streamer or studio; - be a UK resident; - have at least one lead producer credit on a completed feature film (including documentary and animation) or long form scripted TV project. This project must have been released or broadcast commercially within the last five years (film/TV projects including documentary) or within the last eight years (animation projects only). To apply to participate in these meetings, please complete and submit the application form below by midday on 2 September 2024. The BFI will inform selected producers within two weeks of this deadline. #coproduction #studio #animation #film #tvseries #networking
