We recently sat down with Tamara, our newly qualified chartered architect, to ask her a selection of questions about her journey, inspirations, and experiences in the industry. How long is the process and how long does it take to become a fully chartered architect? -Becoming a fully chartered architect typically takes about 7 years until you can sit for the Part 3 examinations. However, for me, finding a practice whose business goals aligned with mine was crucial to feel supported throughout the process. As a result, it has taken me 10 years to reach this stage. What do you love most about your job? - I thrive on the daily challenges my role presents, whether it's in design, managing client expectations, working on-site, or handling general office tasks. Each day offers something new and exciting. What are your aspirations for your career? - When I started as a Part 1 architect almost 9 years ago, I discovered my passion for residential architecture. At that stage, I wore many hats and gradually scaled up to larger projects and practices. Moving forward, I aspire to take on a leadership role where I can make a tangible impact, using my deeper understanding of my responsibilities to the profession and my contribution to the practice’s success. How long have you worked with Ascot Design? - I have worked with Ascot Design for just over 2 years.
