Site Of The Year Award 2024!    We are thrilled to announce that our Private Residential Project in Surrey, led by the Knowles Country Division, has been awarded 'Site of the Year' for 2024. This award is a testament to the outstanding efforts of our dedicated team on a large-scale site, with multiple operatives and subcontractors under challenging conditions.    Throughout the year, the team have seamlessly worked to manage one of the largest Knowles sites of 2024; whilst doing so they have achieved consistently good inspection and audit scores, had a low accident rate, and kept a workforce with a positive attitude. This award is a well-deserved recognition of their commitment to excellence.    Congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication. Knowles is pleased to announce our appointment as Principal Contractor for an exceptional project within the prestigious Highgate Conservation Area.   Located on a sought-after road and surrounded by the serene beauty of Hampstead Heath and Highgate Village, the area is celebrated for its rich architectural heritage which have influenced the architects vision for this remarkable detached home, which will seamlessly blend into its historic surroundings.   Knowles’ scope of work involves the careful demolition of the existing property to create space for a sensitive new build that will increase the footprint by 6,000 sq/ft. This expansion is achieved largely through the addition of a newly formed basement area, but upon completion the property will total 9,380 sq/ft.   Key features include a 3,100 sq/ft basement, external swimming pool, and a modern garden pavilion room. The considered design blends traditional and modern elements whilst addressing sustainability through innovative material selection and energy generation investment. The carbon dioxide emissions are predicted to be 65% lower than required by building regulations.   This exciting development offers an opportunity to harmonise Highgate’s rich architectural heritage with the demands of modern living. As the year draws to a close, so do works at our Country Estate project, nestled in the heart of Surrey. Led by the Knowles Country division, this 70,000 sq/ft private residence showcases our expertise in delivering projects from concept to completion. Our works have included all elements, from the initial demolition and excavation of a 27,000 sq/ft basement, to the erection of a French limestone superstructure, alongside extensive estate works and landscaping.
