TEDx Public Speaking Coach | Award-Winning Speaker Motivating the Masses One Talk at a Time | Co-Founder: Believe In Greatness | Delivered 500+ speaking engagements 💡

One thing I’ve learned about online leads: YOU HAVE TO CATCH THEM IN PERSON IF YOU CAN. Attending networking events is crucial because there’s something about face-to-face connections that digital interactions just can’t match. These events allow you to: 1) Get fresh perspectives 2) Build genuine relationships 3) Solidify connections on a personal level October was all about networking for me. I attended the BYP Network Leadership Conference, an incredible opportunity to meet people, exchange ideas, and gain new insights. What’s funny is that some of the people who’ve been airing my DMs were so much more receptive in person 😅 I also had the pleasure of going with Tomi, one of our newest coaches at Believe In Greatness, and it was a great experience for both of us. Moral of the story: Don’t underestimate the power of in-person networking!

"I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother," Beyonce told the crowd in Houston, Texas, as she endorsed the US vice president. "A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided." "Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what's possible with no ceilings, no limitations," the US singer continued. "We must vote, and we need you." Beyonce was joined onstage by her Destiny's Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, and introduced Democratic candidate Ms Harris as the "next president of the United States". Founder & CEO/ Advancing the careers of Black professionals & helping companies attract, retain & engage Black talent @BYP Network

This week I’ve been trying to take in the fact it’s been eight years since I started BYP Network. From an idea in my bedroom inspired by my own experiences and what I deemed a solution towards changing the Black narrative to a powerful business. It has truly been my honour to witness the growth and support that has empowered us to make a lasting impact. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestone, raising £30,000 for Black NHS workers during a critical time and connecting over 600 Nigerians with the diaspora during the End SARS movement. We’ve upskilled over 60,000 people through our wide range of services and continue to partner with the most amazing organisations. Our global expansion has seen us establish chapters in major cities, hosting conferences in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago. Our annual Leadership Conference, now in its sixth year, has become a cornerstone for career growth and empowerment, while the launch of our AI-powered platform, Javelin, is revolutionising how Black professionals connect with career opportunities. On top of all this we have amplified thousands of Black leaders across our channels and created evergreen upskilling content. We are forever praised for uplifting the community all year round and not just Black History Month! As we know, none of this would have been possible without our community. As part of this weeks celebrations we brought together some of our partners, from across 15 companies, who have helped make this possible. Thank you to our panellists Annisha Taylor Jodene Robinson Chris Woods for a heartfelt Chatham house rules conversation. Shout out the team and thank you Lewis Patrick for the pictures!

Last week Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the #BYPLeeds (a chapter of BYP Network) event sponsored by Lloyds Banking Group and I have been reflecting on how inspiring it was. I had the privilege of listening to some incredible speakers who shared invaluable insights on leadership, confidence, and personal growth.  Some of my 🔑 takeaways: Victoria Leslie-Kent-Kent, reminded us: To know our worth and be resilient. ⁃ She emphasised that setbacks are only temporary - “You have 24 hours to lick your wounds, but the next day, pick yourself up and go again”. Also that building relationships quickly is essential for growth. Paul Speight, encouraged us to “be proud of who we are and where we come from. He also highlighted the power of vulnerability, showing that it can be a strength, not a weakness 💪 . Rose St Louis, spoke about the importance of leading with authenticity and being unapologetically yourself: “Think of yourself as a multifaceted diamond, only showing the side that serves you at that particular time”. 💎 Her networking tips were simple yet powerful: What do I need?  What can I give?  Who can I connect to?  Yvonne Achan-Oryema, discussed building confidence by not only working hard, but by putting yourself up for new roles even before you feel fully qualified and to learn as you grow. . This event was a timely reminder to push beyond my comfort zones and embrace new opportunities with confidence. Let’s all remember to lead authentically and support each other’s growth along the way. 👏 Thank you to Patience N. and everyone who was involved in organising this event, I made some great connections 🙌  #Leadership #CareerGrowth #Resilience #networking #tech
