Today, I attended a talk on neurodiversity in the workplace — exploring how to identify it and how best to accommodate those who are neurodivergent. Being neurodivergent isn’t a disadvantage. In fact, it’s more common than many realise — with 1 in 7 people estimated to be neurodivergent. Understanding neurodiversity is essential for any organisation that truly wants to be inclusive. Small adjustments can go a long way in supporting neurodivergent individuals to thrive at work. A big thank you to Caerphilly County Borough Council, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and all the charities and organisations involved — it was very insightful!

Joyner Group were appointed by Caerphilly County Borough Council to complete the works at Bryncarno which were being funded with the help of Welsh Assembly grants and council funds. The properties had a previous EWI scheme completed but there were lots of issues with the properties since the works. Joyner were tasked with removing the existing system, removal of fin lock gutters, replacement roofs, cavity extraction, new EWI systems and upgraded ventilation. There was also other variables in terms of upgraded windows, integrated PV with battery storage, wall ties and loft insulation, where required.   The previous scheme had been completed in the winter months and there were concerns from the residents that this impacted to why the previous scheme failed, due to this we were tasked with ensuring the 50 private properties were rendered before November and then a 2nd phase of the remaining 36 to start in March. We managed to get 70 fitted with EWI by November and followed this with associated ground works for Handover and Trustmark submission by March.   A recent site visit by the Welsh Assembly government was undertaken which noted how the properties looked incredible with works completed to a very high standard.   We are now entering our next phase of the project and will look to complete all properties by the end of June, which is three months quicker than the originally planned program. #EWI #construction #insulation #green

A great retrofit recovery scheme for us at Caerphilly Homes, in partnership with Joyners - replacing a failed system which now looks better than new and both private homeowners and our tenants in the estate are very happy, the issues that have endured for some time are now rectified. Big thanks to Claire Davies and the private sector housing team! #caerphillyhomes #decarbonisation #affordablewarmth

🫶 We’re extremely proud of our housing support staff in the Caerphilly borough, who go over and above to offer new activities and experiences to residents. 🚌 Recently Pobl staff took a group on a visit to Big Pit, Blaenavon. Here’s what they had to say……. 🗨️ “Today was great!! Going down the mine put everything into perspective and definitely makes you proud to be Welsh.” Beth 🗨️ “I really enjoyed this day out, it was rich with history and makes you think about what our ancestors endured. It was nice to meet some people that lived within the building I’m in and it was also good to meet some others from different projects.” Sam #CaerphillySupportingPeople #morethanbricksandmortar 🫶 Rydyn ni’n falch iawn o'n staff cymorth tai ym Mwrdeistref Sirol Caerffili, sy'n mynd y tu hwnt i'r disgwyl i gynnig gweithgareddau a phrofiadau newydd i drigolion. 🚌 Yn ddiweddar, fe wnaeth staff Pobl a grŵp o drigolion ymweld â Big Pit, Blaenafon. Dywedon nhw… 🗨️ "Roedd heddiw’n wych! Roedd mynd yn y pwll glo yn rhoi popeth mewn persbectif ac yn bendant yn eich gwneud chi'n falch o fod yn Gymro." Beth 🗨️ "Fe wnes i fwynhau'r diwrnod allan yn fawr iawn, roedd yn llawn hanes ac yn gwneud i chi feddwl am brofiadau ein hynafiaid. Roedd hi'n braf cwrdd â phobl sy’n byw yn yr un adeilad â fi ac roedd hefyd yn braf cwrdd â phobl eraill o wahanol brosiectau." Sam #CefnogiPoblCaerffili #MwyNaBricsaMorter
