We were delighted to join Lord Hunt’s round table to discuss developments within the nuclear industry and the value we and the UK supply chain can bring to a new nuclear programme, with our Head of Strategic Development, Dave Nettleship highlighting the exciting opportunities ahead.
The nuclear industry's supply chains will support the delivery of our civil nuclear programme. But why is this important for our wider clean power 2030 mission? We catch up with a few industry leaders who met with Lord Hunt earlier this week to discuss the challenges and opportunities of taking forward a new nuclear programme. Here's Julia Pyke FEI, HonFNucl (Sizewell C), Dominic Ashmore (Sheffield Forgemasters), Dave Nettleship (Cavendish Nuclear) and Lewis Roberts (Amentum) with more 📽️👇

“Apprentices bring a willingness to learn and make up an important part of our strategy to grow the skills for life that the industry needs to ensure a future where nuclear leads the way. Our apprentices have contributed significantly to our project’s successes, growing technical knowhow and adding real value. Many are now flourishing in delivery roles and are our future leaders.” Brian Cameron, Programme Director From decommissioning nuclear facilities, to supporting nuclear generation and new build, through our Civil Nuclear business, Cavendish Nuclear, we support our customers to deliver a future where nuclear is a key part of the energy solution. Hear from Georgia-Levi, Project Management Apprentice, who’s helping to shape the future of the nuclear industry, while gaining the skills, qualifications and real-world experience to thrive in her career. Day 3 of National Apprenticeship Week 2025: Learning is a big part of being an apprentice. This year Project Management apprentice Natasha Gane shows us what a day at Weston College looks like to her. When asked what she enjoys most about attending College “I enjoy the opportunity to network with fellow apprentices from various regions and gain knowledge from experienced Project Managers.” Whether it's hands-on experience in the workplace, valuable insights from your colleagues, or dedicated study time at college no two days are the same at Cavendish Nuclear. We ensure every moment is a stepping stone toward personal and professional growth. To celebrate National Apprenticeship week our Business Winning Apprentice, Isabel Marrin, sat down with Managing Director Mick Gornall to discuss the importance of apprenticeships. Reflecting on his career and how apprenticeships have changed since he was an apprentice, Mick shared valuable advice: “Always be comfortable in going outside your comfort zone... pushing yourself to do the things you perhaps aren’t quite as good at is quite important so that you can grow as a person then and your skills and capabilities improve”. Join us in celebrating the incredible impact of apprenticeships and the skills that empower our future leaders.
