The slipform on the Wood Lane site has now reached Level 16, marking the completion of the core installation and showcasing the affect the Wood Lane development will have on the White City skyline. Climbing an impressive 300mm of every hour, the concrete core has flown up all the way from basement level to level 16 in just 52 days! The Wood Lane development will include 209 co-living apartments, 60 affordable homes, and office space. Located between a railway line and road bridge, it’s a collaboration between HUB and Women's Pioneer Housing (WPH), featuring a 16-storey tower and two six-storey wings. We are excited to share that the Trehus contract has been awarded to Glencar Construction following the conclusion of a competitive tender process. Trehus is a timber-framed building designed to achieve a 40% reduction in embodied carbon compared to a traditional concrete structure. This innovative project embodies high environmental ambitions, aiming for net zero carbon emissions while pursuing top sustainability certifications, including BREEAM Outstanding and Fitwell 3 Star. We’re thrilled to share that McLaren Property | Living | Regeneration’s planning application has been approved for the transformative redevelopment of the former Watford Police Station and Magistrates Court on Clarendon Road. As Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, we have supported the project from feasibility to this key milestone, collaborating with PRP | Architects International and Conisbee to bring this vision to life. The proposed scheme will deliver 314 Build-to-Rent homes (including 10% affordable apartments), flexible office space, 4,485 sqft of retail space and amenities including a café, a new public Garden Square, and children’s play area. Located just 100 metres from Watford Junction Station, the development forms part of the Watford Gateway Strategic Development Area and aligns with the council’s sustainability goals, reducing embodied carbon by repurposing parts of the existing structure. A range of sustainability and energy efficient measures will result in a carbon reduction of 72.5%.
