Vote for the most significant building of the 21st century! https://lnkd.in/en_MTia8 Over the past month, Dezeen have selected one building from each of the last 25 years to create a list that that showcases the projects that have had the MOST SIGNIFICANT impact on architecture in the 21st century so far. The WTA designed Murray Grove was identified as 2009's most important building; a bellwether building that demonstrated how engineered timber could be used at scale, establishing a new paradigm for construction and influencing the global proliferation of timber buildings since. Take a look at the full list and vote for your winner (Murray Grove of course 😉)

We’re preserving the embodied carbon of heritage buildings, proving that sustainability and history can thrive together. This is what it looks like when bold design meets a commitment to our planet. In collaboration with Waugh Thistleton Architects, we’ve crafted a low-carbon timber extension tailored for ESG-conscious occupiers-spaces designed to align with their values and priorities. Thank you Dezeen for naming #MurrayGrove the most significant building of 2009! We're so proud that Murray Grove is featured alongside such beautiful and important examples of architecture, it was our first large scale CLT building, and the first tall timber one in the world. It happened because of the close collaboration and support of the engineers, manufacturer, client, and contractor. In the 16 years since MG we have continued developing our knowledge and passion for low carbon buildings, and work hard to advance the use of engineered timber. Exciting times at 123 Golden Lane 🚧 We’re thrilled to see Conamar officially take possession of the site as construction gets underway, marking the start of something special, where we’re proving that progress doesn’t mean leaving the past behind. This project is all about balance, preserving the building’s historic character while adding two new floors of sustainable, mass-timber construction. It’s a bold approach that raises the bar for how we build in London, blending heritage with innovation. We’re incredibly proud of how quickly this vision has come to life. A huge thank-you to Waugh Thistleton Architects, Webb Yates Engineers, CHP, and Quartz Project Services for bringing creativity and collaboration to every step of the journey. We’ll be sharing updates throughout 2025 as 123 Golden Lane comes to life. Watch this space! #123GoldenLane #MassTimber #SustainableWorkspaces #UrbanTransformation #BywaterProperties
