🌊🛢️ Project Recap: Claxton’s Well Abandonment Success in the Northern North Sea 🌊🛢️ Claxton was contracted by EXCEED Energy to abandon five wells in the Northern North Sea. We were awarded both phases of the well abandonment scope. The first phase involved plugging the wells to prevent environmental harm, while the second phase focused on devising and implementing a solution for wellhead severance and recovery. Learn how we enabled the operator to abandon five wells across two oil fields, reducing project costs and carbon footprint, and minimising environmental impact. https://hubs.ly/Q02S1dTw0 #WellAbandonment #OffshoreEngineering #NorthSea

Earlier this week, Claxton, a Step Change in Safety member, welcomed Step Change CEO Craig Wiggins, who provided a presentation to all staff on driving safety culture and specifically on human performance principles. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion with all team members about safety and tangible ways we can continue to drive this forward. Claxton has recently conducted its Step Change in Safety annual survey, which is used as a tool to gauge staff perception of the company’s safety performance and areas to celebrate or build on. Laura Claxton, Claxton COO, commented: “The presentation was engaging and a brilliant segue into our ‘Safety Conversation Week’ next week. Our team in Stavanger looks forward to his visit.” #safety #stepchangeinsafety #safetyintheworkplace

Claxton designed and built a bespoke monopile cutting and recovery tool to facilitate the removal of overdriven, tapered monopiles with diameters ranging from 6.5m to 8.5m at the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. The monopiles were segmented into sections, each weighing approximately 75 tonnes, and subsequently recovered to the deck. The video below highlights this operation, showcasing the scale of the work completed in collaboration with our project partner, Jumbo Maritime. This project exemplifies an innovative solution, offering a safe and cost-effective method for the subsea recovery of run-off or overdriven monopiles during the installation phase, as well as providing reliable equipment for end-of-life monopile decommissioning.
💪 HLCV Fairplayer recently completed the subsea removal of two monopiles from the #Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm. (See the removal video below👇) The contract represented an extension of Jumbo's scope of work on the transport and installation of TPs for the project. Mobilised for her task in Singapore, the Fairplayer set sail for Taiwan where, with the aid of a Claxton Engineering Services Ltd. cutting tool, she quickly removed the monopiles, cutting them into four pieces and ultimately offloading them onto SPMTs for disposal. Interested in knowing more about this fascinating project, come visit the #JumboOffshore team at WindEnergy Hamburg (booth 415) from 24-27 September 2024. See you in #Hamburg #offhorewind
