When two conductors were destroyed just above the seabed during a collapse, Claxton was called upon to develop a bespoke solution. The challenge: The client needed a reliable method to connect and seal onto the two 30” conductors, which were only a few feet apart. Our solution: Leveraging our extensive asset life extension experience and in-house R&D and design capabilities, Claxton designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested a new product. This innovative solution was then deployed offshore to safely cap the wells. Discover how Claxton’s expertise and tailored approach provided a full solution to this complex challenge. 👉 Read the full case study: https://hubs.ly/Q02S7GBP0

Shaping the Future of Energy 🌟 We were honoured to host an incredible group of young women from Aberdeen Grammar School who are a part of Shell #GirlsInEnergy programme. Their curiosity and passion inspire us to push boundaries in the energy sector every day! 💡🔧 At Claxton, we're committed to empowering the next generation of innovators, fostering diversity, and building a sustainable energy future together. 🌍✨ Here's to the leaders of tomorrow! #WomenInEnergy #FutureLeaders #WomenInSTEM #EnergyForChange
Shell #GirlsinEnergy from Aberdeen Grammar School had a fascinating afternoon at Claxton Engineering Services Ltd. David Anderson and Neil M. gave the group a warm welcome to their Westhill facilities, providing an insightful overview of the company’s work in Oil & Gas Decommissioning, Offshore Asset Life Extension, and Offshore Wind markets. The girls then stepped into the workshop, where they witnessed the pipeline coating removal (PCR) system in action. This impressive system uses high-pressure (HP) and ultra-high-pressure (UHP) water to efficiently strip concrete and other protective coatings from pipelines. Adding to the excitement, the girls had the opportunity to test their skills as ROV pilots, operating one of Claxton’s VALOR inspection vehicles—a highlight of the visit for many. A huge thank you to David Anderson, Neil M., and the entire Claxton Engineering Services Ltd. team for hosting such an engaging and educational experience! Blog insight by our expert, Ben Griffiths: Extending offshore asset life in the Middle East 🌍 Offshore infrastructure owners in the Middle East are constantly seeking ways to extend the production life of their assets. However, they often face integrity challenges as these assets approach the end of their design life. 💡 Key insight: Instead of investing in costly new platforms, operators can opt for conductor recovery operations followed by new well installations, provided the platform hasn’t reached its fatigue life end. In this blog we explore the challenges and cost-effective slot recovery methodologies that have been successfully implemented over several years with multiple operators in the Arabian Gulf.
