How does green make you feel? 🤔 A soothing colour, green won’t cause eye discomfort, and will help employees to feel balanced in mind, body and emotions. But how can you embed it in your office design? Here’s how: 🟢 Swathes of green in areas where staff work for long periods of time, are known to help reduce anxiety and eye strain, as well as improving focus and concentration. 🟢 As green is reminiscent of nature, utilise the principles of biophilia by introducing lush green plants and installing verdant green living walls to help reduce fatigue and boost staff wellbeing. 🟢 As green evokes feelings of serenity, incorporate it in lounges and relaxation rooms, via chairs, soft furnishings, squishy cushions or a statement wall, to signal to staff that it’s time to take five! 🟢 Consider a green scheme for reception areas, as this will ensure visitors and new employees arrive feeling unruffled and happy. A day in the life of Annie Smith, graduate interior designer here at COEL ✨ 📹 💪 Annie has been with us for nearly a year, and it's been incredible to see her develop her skills and become an integral part of our design department. In Annie's words: "My experience has been packed with an amazing support system from everyone in the office and my team in particular are always there for me. I've learnt through hands on experience, site visits and working on various projects which has taught me so much. One of my favourite things is to go on site visits as I learn a lot about the construction process which is something that isn't touched on as much at uni. I love working at COEL as its such a fun and welcoming social environment and the whole team is so approachable and down to earth. Day to day is so different which makes my role so exciting." We had a great day at The Senator Group Showcase in Birmingham yesterday. With a focus on Sustainability, Thomas Murphy took us through their brand new award-winning Contour chairs and Shard 2.0 office pods and seating🪑 We then had an update from Andrea Lakeland on the positive impact their Sustain facility is having on reducing waste from furniture packaging as well as furniture recycling. They've already diverted well over 750,000 items from landfill and recycled 50,000,000Kgs of material 👏 Thanks to Tom Morter for arranging for us. #COELworkspaces #Officefurniture #Sustainbility

Welcome to this week's Flat Lay Friday! 🙌 This flat lay was created by Gemma Noakes, Interior Designer here at COEL and was focused on acoustics 🎼 "We've seen a growing interest in the importance of acoustics within the workspace. It's important for privacy, creating a comfortable and productive workspace and for employee wellbeing.  Acoustics don't have to be boring, you can bring tactile and textural features into an interior through many acoustic products.
