A completed pre-student Citi View can finally be revealed. This £30m, 100,000sq ft, 353-bed Student Accommodation in Paddington is in full use after 15 months on site. Working in partnership with FaulknerBrowns, Paragon Construction Consultants, MS Construction Consultants, Link MEP Consulting Engineers Ltd, Portland Consulting Engineers, Cundall, DP9 Limited, Jensen Hughes, Salus (Building Control & Fire Safety Consultants) Ltd and Clement Acoustics Ltd, the team has created Zone One’s most contemporary and inclusive student accommodation space, on behalf of our client Union Property Services Ltd. We have expanded the building to deliver an additional 25 student bedrooms, demolished and replaced two lift and stair cores, created learning spaces, social areas and a gym and installed a new roof, windows, and repairs to the façade, all before delivery of a high-quality Cat B fit-out. Work is underway for a Q1 2025 finish at our £9.6m, Grade II listed building Cat A refurb in London Bridge to create a prime located office space. Careful sandblasting of original and exposed brickwork within the double height reception and across the three floors will preserve the fabric of the asset. Careful restoration of all windows using full lining and plaster reveals will protect the original designs and showcase the spectacular views across the Thames. Our completed project at Sackville Street is a high quality fit out to deliver premium workspace for The Crown Estate. But what you see is only 50% of the picture. The other 50% of the value lies behind the scenes with the MEPH services installation. David Franklin, Technical Services Manager, says that one of the project's complexities was coordinating the structural steelwork with the mechanical plant layout on the roof. This included positioning of two Air Source Heat Pumps, buffer vessels, and circulating pumps. Due to structural limitations to this area and a tight space, a complete spatial redesign was necessary. By working in close collaboration with our MEPH consultant, Watkins Payne Partnership, and structural design engineer, Hurst Peirce and Malcolm LLP, in an approach that encouraged open and honest communication, the team was able to overcome the challenges in this space. By maintaining this approach throughout the project, the team was able to install the rest of MEPH systems across the buildings five floors to seamlessly integrated into the fit out keeping the works hidden from the occupiers' view. #refurb #fitout

We have completed another year of Copa Del Collins, our annual football tournament at Powerleague Shoreditch. The tournament is growing in popularity every year and this time we brought together not one but two Collins teams to play alongside our clients and partners from B&CO, Core Five, exigere, Quantem, Fawkes & Reece, and Turner & Townsend Alinea.   The event always offers a fantastic chance to connect, socialise and, of course, compete. Everyone fought a good fight - all clean - but there could only be one winner and Core Five took home the title of champions. We all celebrated their win at The Owl and Pussycat and vowed to beat them next year. Here’s to another successful Copa Del Collins – and a big congratulations to Core Five. #construction #teamwork

We have a phrase at Collins, You Spoke, We listened and this underpinned our All Company Presentation this week, based on this summer's All Employee Survey.   59 quantitative and qualitative questions, over 3,000 comments and a senior team that responded highlighting all that was great about Collins and also where we need to improve.   Support, learning and development, internal communication, reward and recognition and employee wellbeing were all on the agenda led by MD Jason Warren who kicked off the session with a vision for the future of the business.   We are transparent with our people about the challenges we all face in the industry but that doesn’t diminish our ambitions to be the very best at what we do.
