I really enjoyed participating in the first Strive & Thrive live episode a few weeks ago, alongside Mike Oliver of Easol who did a brilliant job as the event host. I must admit, it was quite a new experience to lead the discussion on a live video, but it was an area I’m very comfortable to talk about as I’m so passionate about it. The topic was “Finance – A Key to Success”. A big thank you to everyone who attended and we were grateful for the positive feedback. Strive & Thrive is a series of discussions aimed to inspire and provide insights to Entrepreneurs, Business owners and the Leadership teams of growing SME businesses. If you missed the episode, and would like to watch the recording, the link to the discussion is in the comments below. Looking forward to the next live event in a couple of weeks! #entrepreneur #people #planet #profit

Imagine this: You’re a leader in the recovery effort in the aftermath of a 7.5 earthquake, critical communications infrastructure have been damaged, leaving blank spots in network and radio connectivity. The mobile/satellite networks have been overloaded by a surge of public traffic, roads and buildings have collapsed, survivors have no access to clean water, there’s potential for food shortages. What do you do? A major challenge in disaster response is the disruption of communications and coordination efforts, especially for first responders in the aftermath. Together with Coefficient, we have been exploring the use of LLMs and democratised data. A result of this is Robin - an AI Assistant designed specifically for disaster relief coordination. Read more about what we have learned about this problem space in our blog. https://lnkd.in/ed6Zu7BE #emergencycommunications #AI

Last Thursday we held our very first Strive & Thrive event live on LinkedIn! It was great hearing from Romesh Jeyaseelanayagam and Mike Oliver on their thoughts and experiences, and the thought-provoking discussions arising from the stimulating questions from the audience. Thank you very much for all who attended!   For those who missed the event, here is our key takeaway:   Finance is not something that should be feared or dreaded - it is something that is essential for businesses to grow and thrive. Investing in a robust financial approach will establish the safeguards for the sustainability of the business, and therefore more than pay for itself. So, let's not crash the bus and let's use finance effectively as we Strive and Thrive.   On that note, look out for more information on our next Strive & Thrive event next month! #StriveAndThrive #entrepreneurship

Strive & Thrive - #1 Finance: A Key to Success Finance is a very polarising topic amongst entrepreneurs. Some place it front and centre in their business, counting every penny and converting every action into currency. Others would prefer to avoid it altogether, deeming it a ‘headache’. Join us in this Strive & Thrive episode, where Romesh Jeyaseelanayagam, Jessica Hornsby and Mike Oliver discuss this business-critical topic and their views on the benefits of enabling Finance to be a value-added function in their businesses. #StriveAndThrive #finance #entrepreneurship

Last week, our team set out to identify what is driving the changes in entrepreneurship.   We identified 3 macro forces influencing entrepreneurship, including technological advancements, which we shared about last week.    This week, we want to talk about the second macro force - Evolving Market Dynamics. Markets are changing fast, with globalisation reducing trade barriers and increasing competition, customer behaviours shifting drastically towards social and environmental sustainability, and economic uncertainty influenced by national and global politics. To overcome this, successful entrepreneurs have adopted more agile and responsive outlooks to adapt to economic changes and customer demands, while also becoming future-oriented through innovation, placing emphasis on developing unique value propositions that meet the diverse new needs in a globalised marketplace.   #entrepreneurship #change

The past month has been a flurry of activity. So this week, we decided as a team to take some time to pause and reflect on how we've seen entrepreneurship change.    We identified 3 macro forces influencing entrepreneurship.    The first macro force: Technological Advancements The emergence of digital technologies has significantly reduced entry barriers, enabling entrepreneurs to more easily and affordably start and grow their businesses, resulting in a surge of digital entrepreneurship. Moreover, the rise of emerging technologies, especially AI, is creating fresh opportunities, scaling potential, and adding value for entrepreneurial individuals. These technological advancements require entrepreneurs to consistently enhance their skills, adopt new technologies, and modify their business models to remain competitive. #entrepreneurship #change #technologicaladvancements

We're currently working with Pemberton on this incredible European Space Agency-funded project looking to demonstrate a technology to scale up the measurement of biodiversity. As part of this project, we're looking to understand more about the potential users of this technology. We are looking to interview people in green/natural capital finance, ESG, and BNG roles. If you are interested in participating in a 30-minute online interview, please reach out to Easol or Rose-Sharon Chin on LinkedIn, or email us at hello@easol.io. #biodiversity #esg #bng

CEO, Data Geek, Diversity of thought champion. Saving the world’s bees through deep tech and ingenuity. 🐝 ❤️ 🐝 Pemberton.ai

Pemberton has won grant funding for 800,000 Euro Project from European Space Agency - ESA and UK Space Agency to demonstrate #biodiversity monitoring in grasslands, with partners Ordnance Survey, Sainsbury’s and West Berkshire Council. The large grant will enable the ground breaking demonstration into a fully transparent pipeline whilst measuring biodiversity and increasing trust in habitat condition data. The funding comes after Pemberton was awarded the ESA’s Best Feasibility Study in 2022 for a UFO project which saw the successful feasibility study of this exciting new technology. The initial phase of data collection for this project was done over the delightful British summer across the UK and centred on West Berkshire and Oxfordshire with the help of local landowners, Newbury-based charity BioCap Limited, Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre (TVERC) and West Berkshire Council. Ordnance Survey and Sainsbury's have also joined this project alongside Easol to help design the next range of #AI centred products which will be immediately impactful for the UK’s transition towards #netzero and sustainable practices. Over the past few years, huge financial institutions around the world have committed to take responsibility for their nature-related risks and the ecosystem services on which they rely. Pemberton has committed to provide the highest possible standard of data quality and transparency to unlock this new channel of funding for nature-based solutions. Stay tuned for papers and results on how we're helping facilitate #greenfinance whilst protect the bees and making a better world for all. 🐝
