🚆 Electrification of the Midland Mainline could create 4,300 skilled jobs in the East Midlands! Regional leaders, MPs, and the business community are calling on the government to commit to electrifying the line north of South Wigston up to Sheffield. Transport for East Midlands has revealed analysis showing that alongside the transport and environmental benefits, electrification of the line up to Sheffield could create 4,300 new jobs, including skilled occupations, and more than 100 apprenticeships. The analysis also shows that over the remaining course of the project, electrification of the Midland Mainline could generate an additional £61m in economic value from jobs created in the East Midlands, and nearly £18m in social value benefit. EMC seeks to commission a provider of a referral and signposting service for English for Speakers of Other Languages (‘ESOL’) for Hong Kong BN(O) Visa Holders (‘HKBNO’) in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A recent contract has successfully demonstrated the value of a single point of contact for the screening, assessment and referral of HKBNO learners to English Language opportunities. We therefore seek to continue with this approach to ensure that all HKBNO are able to access appropriate ESOL provision in a timely manner. The contract will include funding for the screening, assessment, referral, and signposting of Hong Kong BNO status holders to appropriate courses in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. More information including our Invitation to Tender and Service Specification can be found on our website. https://lnkd.in/eTSXh2YC Noel Oxford #esol
