WHAT'S THE ROLE OF HYDROGEN IN THE MIDLANDS' NET-ZERO TRANSITION? That was the question posed at a recent Insider Media Hydrogen Roundtable which took place at Loughborough University. HyDEX and the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) were delighted to support the roundtable, which consisted of a panel of a number of prominent business, university and public sector leaders with an interest in #hydrogen. The panellists gave their thoughts on how the region is in prime position to become the national centre for hydrogen production and distribution, due to its industrial make-up and central location, However, they also expressed the need for assistance from the central, regional and local government, a coordinated strategy and more investment from business. Our East Midlands Hydrogen summit successfully brought together 130 delegates from more than 80 organisations across the full hydrogen value chain, from production, distribution and industrial end use, who all gathered at Loughborough University today. As the UK’s largest inland hydrogen cluster, we’re playing a leading role in the future of clean energy. Today’s event was packed full of insightful and compelling speeches, panel Q&A, workshops and tours and demonstrated our commitment to collaborate and innovate to decarbonise our region.
