Following the launch of the Spring Budget yesterday, EDGE Business Development Director Hughie Clarke shares his initial thoughts. “Recovery of the commercial and residential sectors remain sluggish, and market uncertainty has eroded investment and sector confidence. However, the additional £2.2bn in defence funding presents new opportunities for SMEs to engage in UK-wide defence infrastructure projects." We've had the pleasure of attending some fantastic careers events recently, helping to inspire the next generation in the property and construction industry. 🏗️ Samuel Cocker, Joshua Morris, and Benjamin Mott recently represented EDGE at Constructing Careers Day at Leeds College of Building. This was a fantastic day run by Yorkshire Children's Charity, with their goal to open up opportunities for students that might otherwise remain out of reach. The students showed a keen interest in property and construction, making it a truly rewarding experience. Marie Hadfield and Charlotte Hayes also attended two brilliant careers fairs – one at Hillsborough Stadium, and the other at South Nottingham Academy. With tasks to complete and prizes to win, it was wonderful to see so many students getting involved and learning all about cost and project management! 👷♀️ There’s not always a great representation of construction careers throughout schools and colleges, so events like these help shine a light on the exciting opportunities it offers! I wonder if we met any future members of EDGE? 🤔 #careers #college #students

We are thrilled to announce that EDGE has been appointed to provide Project and Cost Management services for the new residential addiction treatment clinic in Bestwood, Nottingham. This project, developed by Delamere, has recently secured planning approval from Gedling Borough Council and represents the largest investment in an addiction treatment clinic in the UK. The new facility will be located at the former Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service site and will include 32 residential bedrooms, along with supporting therapy and ancillary spaces, and importantly, the creation of over 50 jobs for the local community. The site will also feature a premium wellness suite, including ice baths, a fully equipped gymnasium, a steam room, a sauna, and a meditation area, in addition to individual and group therapy rooms. Thank you to Martin Preston and Edward Preston for bringing us in to the fold. We’re excited to be collaborating with architects Anderson Orr, to bring Delamere's vision to life. Unjulee Karadia, Director, said: "We're delighted to be leading this transformative project, and even better to be working with Joel Day from Anderson Orr — great to reconnect after studying together up the road many years ago at the University of Nottingham!" Geoff Tindsley, Director, added: "We’re very proud to be part of this ground-breaking project in Nottingham. It’s a fantastic opportunity to deliver real impact for the local community, and help support bringing Delamere’s vision into reality. Stay tuned for more updates as we begin this transformative journey to create a state-of-the-art facility that will make a significant impact on the community and beyond.
