Congratulations to eftec Director Ian Dickie for his work as Technical Author of these standards for #naturemarkets These standards are a significant step forward in the development of a high-integrity nature market regime to scale-up investment into the restoration of nature across the UK. 💡 To learn more: join the BSI webinar TOMORROW (27/03) at 2pm: https://lnkd.in/du6d5b_w Compliments also to BSI, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the entire Advisory Group and all who gave feedback in last year's consultation #nature #naturemarkets #naturalcapital #biodiversity #finance
We’re thrilled to announce important new standards to empower nature markets! 📢 The Nature Investment Standards (NIS) Programme, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, devolved administrations, and developed by BSI with industry, takes a big step forward today with the release of the updated overarching principles standard. This is the first NIS standard that is fully ready for adoption. The overarching principles standard (also called Flex 701 v2.0) reflects industry feedback on the previous iteration of the standard and: ✅ Sets out essential principles for the design and operation of UK nature markets. ✅ Covers processes to generate, trade, and store nature credits. ✅ Is designed to underpin nature market integrity across the UK, providing clarity and consistency to boost confidence and encourage investment. 🔗 Find out more and get your free copy: https://lnkd.in/ef7pKRX9 But that’s not all. We’re also releasing for public consultation the first version of a new standard on the supply of nature-based carbon benefits. The nature-based carbon standard (also called Flex 703 v1.0) is intended to: ✅ Complement the overarching principles. ✅ Drive consistency, quality, and rigour across UK projects for nature-based carbon removals and greenhouse gases reductions. 💡 Be part of the conversation - get a copy and share your comments by 25 April: https://lnkd.in/ezfDWkjB #NatureMarkets #BSIStandards #InvestingInNature #CarbonMarkets
