Looking for a new role? We’re excited to be #hiring a new Health and Well-being Consultant (WELL AP) to join our wonderful team. If you’ve already been working with the WELL Building Standard and are looking for an opportunity to help developers create truly quality developments that support the health and well-being of their occupants, this opportunity could be for you. It’s also a remote role (with some exceptions) and a strong focus on work-life balance. #WELLap #designforwellbeing #healthybuildings #jobopportunity

We're passionate about improving the quality of people's lives by improving the buildings that they spend their lives in. Typically, we do this through advising developers and designers on how to make healthy spaces. Now we're moving towards supporting HR departments and companies in making improvements to workspaces for healthier, happier and more efficient employees. This week, we've written an article featured on the front page of Make A Difference Summits website that explores the relationship between office design and staff well-being. We see far too many examples of companies offering a number of 'perks' but making staff work in poorly lit, poorly ventilated spaces without anywhere to eat their lunch away from their desks. If this sounds familiar, we are now offering office health review services to help companies improve the design of their spaces to support workplace well-being. Click the link to read the article and let us know your thoughts in the comments. #healthyoffices #healthyofficedesign #workplacewellbeing #workplacewellbeingsupport #increasingproductivity

Thanks for sharing Richard Le Sueur 🙏🏼
#OlgaTurnerBaker of #Ekkist gave valuable insight into how to make homes more healthy at the #RICSResidentialConference in London today. By using frameworks such as #WELLBuildingStandard health hazards can be reduced which will ease the burden on the NHS. Currently there are 2.6m homes within the UK that have a category one health hazard - such as mould. Damp related illnesses cost the NHS over £38bn annually to treat. #WELLforResidential #Healthyhomes #healthandwellbeing

The environment that we exist in is critical to our health and well-being. I provide Nutrition and Lifestyle talks for companies as part of their workplace well-being initiatives, but often, the quality of the office environment where the employees are spending their days has been overlooked. At Ekkist, we are specialists in optimising the built environment to get the best out of your people and support their optimal health. This is something I have written about in this recent guest blog for Altruist Enterprises. If you're interested in having a health review of your office from evidence-based experts, please get in touch. #designforwellbeing #healthyofficedesign #healthandthebuiltenvironment #healthybuildingspecialists #officedesign

Yesterday Ekkist Director Ben Channon appeared on Singapore news channel CNA, speaking about healthy urban design, with the World Cities Summit being held there this week. Appearing alongside architect Michael Leong, DCEO at SAA Architects Pte Ltd, the interview explored how urban design impacts mental well-being, and how dense cities can maximise better health for their residents. #wellbeing #urbandesign #healthycities https://lnkd.in/ecBvr_av

The elephant in the room when it comes to the ‘workplace well-being’ sector? The room itself. We’re living through a global health crisis from which we have seen a much-needed focus on workplace well-being services across companies of all sizes. But how much of an impact are the current programmes and benefits actually having on the day-to-day lives of the employees within these organisations, vs the design of the spaces themselves? From our perspective, there is one key piece of the puzzle that is largely being overlooked that has a significant impact on the health and well-being of employees: the physical environment within which they are working. With disengaged staff costing businesses £340 bn a year, and around 72% of employees not wanting to spend their full working week in the office, assessing the health-benefits of the physical office environment should be at the top of companies’ agendas. The evidence shows how improving the physical environment of the office can improve staff mental and physical health but this hasn’t yet been part of the workplace well-being remit, until now. Our new Office Health Review service is here to provide you with expert guidance to assess and enhance your workspace to benefit staff productivity, retention, health and well-being. Read more about it in our latest article: https://lnkd.in/eDidprfD #workplace #design #health #wellbeing #designforwellbeing #productivity #HR
