Last week saw the conclusion of our Caterplus Resident Bake Off finals for our ExtraCare Charitable Trust sites with Hagley Road and Shenley Wood taking part. A big thank you to Darren Neal, Rachel Law and the team who have organised and delivered this innovative competition and created lasting memories for the residents across the Trust during the last few weeks. Congratulations to our Elior UK Healthcare team at the Royal London who've been recognised by London Borough of Tower Hamlets with a gold award for providing a food offer that reflects and encourages good, healthy choices for its customers in the borough. This week we held the first final of our Caterplus Resident Bake Off competition for our ExtraCare Charitable Trust sites, starting at Stoke Gifford. Following the team mentor days earlier in the month, this final challenge saw the residents given 45 minutes to use any item from the ingredient table to decorate their cake in any way they would like. As you can see from the photos they excelled with some really creative sponge cake creations! Well done to the winner, Annemarie Gabler and thanks to everyone involved in creating another enjoyable and memorable experience. The Caterplus team now moves on to host 3 more finals within the ECCT group starting later this week at Shenley Wood, followed by Hughenden and Hagley Road. Sometimes it's all about saying thank you! This is Gina, who is retiring today after more than 32 years as a cleaner at our Baker Hughes Montrose site. Gina is held in such high regard by her colleagues that it was only fitting that her big day was marked in style by the team with a cake, decorations, and plenty of gifts. Thank you Gina for your loyal service and also to Marius Coste, Group Cleaning Manager, who wrote this very fitting note which we thought we'd share. Here’s a few photos from this week’s Elior UK Food Expo, held at our Stadia site, the AESSEAL New York Stadium in Rotherham.   Over 100 of our operators attended to network with suppliers and discuss current and emerging food trends, along with product innovation. The day included an engaging panel discussion, Future Proofing Foodservice Trends’ followed by our Food and Beverage exhibition that gave attendees the chance to taste some of our most popular Elior concepts including ‘Roti Movement’ our new Indian Street Food offer, along with Umami and Pizza Foundry. Here are some action shots of Elior UK's Richard Hall and Luke Langford, braving the waters and the weather to participate in and support the second annual Impellam Group Dragon Boat Race. The event was a tremendous success and although they weren't victorious, the team had a great day and raised lots of money for a wonderful Charity, Lia's Wings, an organisation dedicated to providing vital medical transport for babies and children in need.
