Last week, our Digital Team attended the launch of South Bank and Waterloo Sustains Us in London, a sustainability initiative aiming towards creating a fairer and greener neighbourhood by 2030. Passionate about creating impact through culture, we were thrilled to work with South Bank Employers Group (SBEG), Rachel Mapplebeck and Design Science to deliver digital communications strategy and tools that facilitated meaningful community and stakeholder engagement. On the occasion, we were inspired by Mete Coban MBE, Bushra Iqbal, Andrea Zick (She/Her), Giles Goddard and Jackson Bylett who shared insights on sustainable community programmes in the local area and across London. We are thrilled to announce that Flint Culture will be working with the Museum of the Viking Age, Vikingtidsmuseet in Oslo, Norway. Formerly known as the Viking Ship Museum, it houses three of the best-preserved Viking ships in the world. The museum is undergoing a major renovation and plans to reopen in 2027 as the world's leading institution dedicated to the Viking Age. The newly expanded museum, designed by AART, will be three times larger than its predecessor and feature over 5,500 artefacts from the Viking Era. Last week, our team had the opportunity to visit Oslo for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the capital project and ongoing restoration of the Viking ships and sledges. We also visited the Historisk museum to see VÍKINGR, an exhibition featuring some of the remarkable artefacts from the Viking Age that will be showcased in the new Museum.

As part of Wallace Chan’s Venice Biennale exhibition, Flint Studio produced a set of four short films, each inspired by the exhibition’s venue — The Chapel of Santa Maria della Pietà. The 18th century chapel is home to an abundance of frescoes, as well as being the presumed origin of Vivaldi’s « Four Seasons » seasons compositions. To acknowledge this, our in-house production team worked with sound designer Rob Owens to reinterpret Vivaldi’s classic compositions with a modern twist referencing Chan’s Chinese roots. And to complement these images, Wallace Chan reads four original poems in Chinese, Mandarin and English, exploring topics of endurance, re-birth and beauty — all aspects that are tied to each of the four seasons.
