GeoAcoustics was out on the Sava river in Belgrade undertaking installation training for a GeoPulse Compact Sub-Bottom Profiler last week. The system was fitted to a USM mount and positioning was supplied by a #KongsbergDiscovery Seapath 130. As you can see from the photos, the weather was ideal for spending a day out on the river ☀ #MarineTechnology #Hydroacoustics #InlandWaterways #Rivers

Last week our CCO Richard Dowdeswell was in Florida to present at the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Annual Summit & Expo. Richard joined a number of other speakers from Kongsberg Discovery, DSC Dredge and SPE Dredging Solutions in a session about the use of #sonar for #underwater visualisation during #dredging operations. Richard spoke about the use of sub-bottom profiling sonars to help identify potential hazards before dredging starts as well as giving a presentation on the use of Uncrewed Survey Vessels (#USV) for conducting #bathymetricsurveys.

Thanks Uncrewed Systems Technology magazine for such a thorough and insightful article in your latest issue! Writer Peter Donaldson talked to our CCO Richard Dowdeswell about everything from the integration of AI with sonar systems to the role of Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (#USV) in expanding the reach of hydrographic surveys to previously inaccessible areas. Check out the full article to explore how our new developments are helping to pave the way for the next era of marine surveying. #AI #Bathymetry #Hydrography #MarineSurvey #Sonar #Subsea https://lnkd.in/e4Wtx7wP

We had the pleasure of hosting several local dignitaries at our HQ yesterday, including Paula Waters-Bunn, the Mayor of Great Yarmouth and Jack Weaver, the Chief Operating Officer of the Norfolk Chambers of Commerce. They joined us for the presentation of our King’s Award for Enterprise trophy by Lady Dannatt MBE the HM Lord-Lieutenant of the Norfolk Lieutenancy at lunchtime. Last year, we won the first ever King’s Award for Enterprise for our record in international trade. Our general manager Linda Dowdeswell met the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace during a special reception on 27th June 2023 and almost a year later, we are delighted to have the trophy with us here in Great Yarmouth. Thanks to everyone who attended the ceremony, to the team that helped to organise it, and of course to the entire GeoAcoustics family, who made winning the King’s Award possible in the first place! Our General Manager Linda Dowdeswell was lucky enough to win marine and energy recruitment company Atlas Professionals’ quiz during #OceanologyInternational in March. The prize? A very cool #Lego set based on a research ship called the Ocean Explorer. Linda has had great fun building the set, which is now proudly on display in our HQ reception in Great Yarmouth, along with a specially made plaque from Atlas Professionals – thanks for such a lovely prize and we hope you like the pictures! #subsea #marineresearch #Oi2024

Earlier this month GeoAcoustics was asked to help out on a sub-bottom profiling survey in the Norfolk Broads for an aircraft that crashed in the early 1940s. The survey site had a depth of only 1m of water and a small boat was the only suitable vessel to get to the area, making our GeoPulse Compact sub-bottom profiler the perfect tool for the job! #marinearchaeology #surveylife #inlandwaterways #subsea
