Geography teachers & lecturers, Biology, Geology, Environmental Science teachers and Heads of Humanities.... we have a little treat for you! Flooglebinder | Certified B Corp, in association with the Geographical Association, is excited to host a trip to Costa Rica in July this year. You will work hands-on and harmoniously with local communities and wildlife, participating in forest and mangrove restoration, beach cleanups, and sea turtle and bird monitoring projects. Additionally, you will benefit from talks on topics such as regenerative farming, climate change resilience and many other common geographical issues that align with GCSE and A Level specifications. This unique CPD opportunity offers geographers and conservationists the chance to contribute actively to the preservation of this distinctive ecosystem while enhancing their pedagogical toolkit, bringing classrooms to life. Alongside fellow travellers and teachers, and with the support of our curriculum expert, you will create a bank of truly representative and adaptable resources to take back to school and contribute to the Geographical Association's resource base. Throughout this journey, you'll enjoy the company of like-minded, environmentally conscious explorers and inspiring educators who understand the power of travelling for good. The digital copy of Primary Geography is now available. In the latest issue, Stephen Pickering and Sharon Witt decided to have a good old natter about the things that matter: pupils and learning outdoors! Read Let’s talk outside with the link below👇 https://lnkd.in/eKtSUB-v

Great to see my co-authored article of Teaching Migration is out. It was a pleasure writing with Shanique Harris about this important topic in the geography classroom. Migration is a hot political topic in many countries around the world, how are you teaching it in your classroom? You can read a copy here in Teaching Geography from the Geographical Association https://lnkd.in/d-_XgyRn

The The MTPT Project’s brilliantly Northamptonshire Regional Representative is standing for Geographical Association President! Explore her post and give Fiona Sheriff a vote if you’re a GA member. She’s such a keen geography educator that’s she’s even been helping me from afar with my beach SOW for doing English writing with my children. I’ve never known someone so excited about sea storms and children’s books about Geography!
A little while ago I was convinced that I should receive a nomination for running as the Geographical Association President for 2026/2027. Kit Marie Rackley and myself have both received nominations and therefore an election has been called! Kit is an amazing geographer and does so much to promote the discipline. Please read both bios, and if you are a member of the Geographical Association please do vote! https://lnkd.in/e2TYxaZM
