In spirit of National Careers week, we delivered our latest #DIY Skills workshop, this time in #York 🔨   With the fantastic help from everyone at York College, York UK and our Supply Chain partners, our team ran a three-day DIY Skills workshop session teaching the students hands on experience in joinery, decorating, plumping and electrical skills.👩🔧👨🔧   Our Construction Cares DIY Skills workshops give an opportunity for local communities to access and provide support with independent living and careers in construction 🏗🟥   After a productive 3 days, the students were deservingly awarded GMI toolkits and a certificate of completion presented by our Group Services Director Thomas West and Responsible Business Partner Brendan Tannam, recognising effective teamwork and determination 🧰   We would like to say a huge well done to the students for completing the DIY Skills courses and thank you to our dedicated teams at York College, York UK, West End joiners & Builders LTD, Wetheralds Of Harrogate Ltd and Heb Group for helping out on the days. Another early project delivery for the #GMI team ✅🟥   Eugene and our team in the #Midlands have demonstrated #exceptionaldelivery, by delivering the Urban 8 Logistics Park #scheme at Kings Norton in #Birmingham a week ahead of schedule ⏲💪   Delivered for our fantastic client St Francis Group the 400,000 sq ft, #BREEAM #Outstanding #development sets a standard in #sustainability, whilst further enhancing the West Midlands' #infrastructure and #logistics capabilities.   This, once again, showcases and builds upon #GMI's incredible #history of being a #leading #contractor in #specialist #delivery within the #industrial and #logistics sector🏗   Adam Taylor, Regional Director added: “This project underscores GMI’s capability to deliver large-scale, impactful developments. Leeds City College Digital World of Work Sessions 👩💻 🌍   Today our fantastic presenters Thomas West, Aine Abbott, Adam Wozniak and James Murkin delved into all thing’s #digital #construction to showcase the students of #Leeds the array of opportunities available within the industry and how GMI are moving into a more digital inclined way of working, from concept to creation 🏗   The students who showed a great interest in Computer Science and IT learnt an abundance of information about GMI’s journey in becoming digital, Cyber Security, Digital Construction and an informative session on project data dashboards and how we are implementing this into our development strategies 💡   We would like to say a huge thank you to our presenters for continuing to inspire the younger generation into digital careers👏   #DigitalCareers #NCW #Careers #ExceptionalDelivery #GMI #BuiltbyGMI #Construction
