  • 👏 Congratulations to Crucial Crew which has been awarded with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service! The event is designed to help young people in Shrewsbury and Oswestry develop essential life skills and is attended by around 1,500 youngsters every year. We continue to provide financial support for the initiative from our My Community Fund and many of our colleagues also volunteer as chaperones. We’re delighted that Crucial Crew’s massive contribution to community safety has been recognised ❤️ https://lnkd.in/ehusDA_U The My Community Fund, delivered in partnership with Jewson and Efficiency East Midlands Limited (EEM), supports grass-roots organisations in Staffordshire and Shropshire. Local charities and voluntary groups can apply for grants online at: https://lnkd.in/eA_h5aZ7

  • We have secured £12 million from Wave 3 of the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF) to improve the energy efficiency of 1,948 homes over the next three years. This investment means warmer, more comfortable, and more affordable homes for our customers at a time when energy costs are rising. It also allows us to retrofit and upgrade homes with greener technology, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and the UK’s net zero ambitions. https://lnkd.in/eZWhdWAg

  • To continue celebrating International Women’s Day, we are proud to share an inspiring interview with the Transition Chair of Housing Plus Group, Catherine Dass. In this video, Catherine reflects on her journey as a leader, the challenges she has faced in tackling gender bias, and her vision for the future of women in leadership roles. Catherine’s insights on leadership, resilience, and breaking down barriers offer a powerful message as we continue to champion diversity and inclusion within our organisation.

  • This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the achievements of women who advocate for their communities and drive meaningful change. As a dedicated involved customer for the past three and a half years, Enise has been a passionate advocate for tenants' rights, community engagement, and inclusivity. Her tireless efforts to ensure tenants’ voices are heard, alongside her impactful community work, align perfectly with this year’s International Women’s Day theme: #AccelerateAction. With 19 years of experience as a tenant, she felt she understood the challenges many residents faced, particularly single mothers. “As a single mother for 17 years, I knew what it was like to need secure accommodation. There was a stigma around single mothers, as if we’d brought it on ourselves, but we’re just doing our best. Having a stable home at a time when you feel isolated is incredibly important.” Read more from Enise here: https://lnkd.in/eWqHKc6X #IWD2025

  • As the world gets ready to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8), we are highlighting the powerful female voices helping to shape the future of our organisation. With strong representation on our involved customer groups, they play a crucial role in scrutinising new and existing policies by bringing to the table a wealth of experience and unique insights. Mother and grandmother Leda joined the Panel after being so impressed with the way we dealt with a complaint. Now she would encourage anyone with a view on what the organisation should be doing, to get involved. “It is really important that women’s voices are heard, particularly those bringing up young children. I’m pleased to say that Housing Plus Group is really prepared to take their views on board and is very supportive of its customers. In fact, the more you get involved, the more it feels like being part of a big family!” Read more from our involved customers, here: https://lnkd.in/esU2-f6N #IWD2025

  • As we continue to celebrate Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day, we’re sharing the experiences of our female colleagues who work in operational management and leadership roles that have traditionally been held by men. Adelle joined Housing Plus Group in 2010 as an administrator in the Responsive Repairs and Voids team. She has since worked her way up to Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) Manager and now leads a team of 31, overseeing the group’s programme of fire safety works for properties in Staffordshire and Shropshire. “I’d like to inspire other women to do the same and see that it can be done with hard work. I think I could be a good mentor for women who are joining the industry, as I understand some of the challenges they may face. It’s not always easy, but it’s certainly achievable, and I’m an advocate for encouraging women into these roles.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ey9yV5jT #WomenInConstructionWeek2025 #IWD2025
