Long live the smashed potato 🥔 🥔 Over the past few months, Twisted Green has been delving into smashed potato salads, and its recent gnocchi potato salad video has surpassed 3M views!! Here's what Mia, Senior Creative Manager of TG, had to say... 'When we first posted our response to the viral smashed potato salad, we knew we'd hit on something good. So we kept going - caesar salad smashed potatoes, chimichurri romesco smashed potatoes, chilli oil and smacked cucumber smashed potatoes, the list goes on and our views were soaring. We realised there was a real appetite for easy, delicious customisable dishes to suit every palate. Cut to last week when we were throwing ideas around in the Twisted studio. "Why not use gnocchi (basically potato), squash it and roast it as you would a potato?" we asked ourselves. "It'll cut down the cooking time and show people how to use a classic ingredient in a more playful (and arguably more delicious) way." So we threw together a delicious smashed gnocchi salad with a crowd-pleasing sauce and tonnes of fresh antipasti-inspired fillings - the response was exactly as we hoped it would be! It's pasta, potatoes, roasties and salad all in one. What's not to love.'

To mark the return of Notting Hill Carnival this year, Twisted editor Joanna conducted a series of interviews with people who know it best, to discover why food is 'the heartbeat' of the Caribbean festival! Jamaican TV chef Levi Roots tells her how Carnival is responsible for his Reggae Reggae Sauce (and also recommends some of the food vendors doing amazing things at this year's celebration). Meanwhile, three food traders readying for this year's event share the reality of hustling on the streets of Notting Hill – hot jerk pans, sleepless nights, but also the joy of sharing their cultures with the world. Articles linked in comments!

From Charli XCX to Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, rising pop stars dominated the scene this summer. Our CEO, Melissa Chapman (she/her), spoke to Vogue Business on what brands can learn from this summer's biggest pop moments https://lnkd.in/ea8Q8qjJ Key takeaways? Brands tapping into social trends need to be authentic and vibe with the spirit of the trend. One way of doing this is by choosing the right creator collab - think Tyla and Louis Vuitton, Tinashe and Urban Outfitters, and Olivia Rodrigo and Stanley Cup - which allows brands to leverage the star’s audience and fanbase, helping them reach new or previously hard-to reach-audiences 🌟

The Hunger Stage is back on Twisted this year, meaning we've been chatting to the public (and one or two stars of the music world) about all things food at festivals! 💫 The format helps create social conversations around two things everyone loves - food and music - and most importantly allows Twisted to reach its audience on the ground and in the real world! We thought we'd start big, with none other than Sean Paul himself, asking him to pick his favourite festival food, in the style of the 'This or That' format we're seeing all over TikTok. Plus, we asked rising star Ruger to put his hand in a welly in our returning game Beef Wellington, guessing the (often gross) festival foods inside, so that he can avoid spilling any 'beef' he has. Festival season isn't over either, and the team is also heading to All Points East this weekend, so stay tuned for more very soon 👀

At Twisted, we exist to fuel connections both on and off the plate, and we're always looking to showcase incredible food stories, with our signature unpretentious and inclusive TOV! This month, Twisted’s Chefs Making Snacks series profiled Hackney’s hidden gem, Londis N16 - the local cornershop selling homemade Gujarati food with a cult following. What makes Londis’ cardboard-packed curries so special is that they’re a family endeavour, serving up proper, hearty, diasporic Indian home-cooking, unlike anything you’d find at your local curry house. Check out our video with Priyesh and Anju, and Twisted editor Joanna’s interview with them here: https://lnkd.in/et6SByyx

We've been shortlisted for 'Multilingual Content Campaign of the Year' at the Global Content Awards! 🏆🏆 Have you heard about The Crunch Effect? To increase brand awareness for Wasa globally, we needed a campaign that could be universally understood. Our research revealed that the sound of a crunch, unlike other eating noises, triggers an uplifting reaction—a smile, a laugh. This sound is universally recognised as a sign of joy, regardless of culture. We called it The Crunch Effect. So, we built a campaign around this iconic sound, featuring a hero video of people attempting their perfect crunch, and collaborating with creators to emphasise the sensory experience of Wasa. The Crunch Effect exceeded benchmarks, with higher unaided ad recall and increased top-of-mind awareness. A huge shout out to the team for their incredible work on this! 10 years of Jungle!! 🥳 To celebrate our anniversary, we invited our industry friends to an incredible Upfronts at The Volley (Twisted’s perm residency). Across the day, we looked back at our journey over the past 10 years, unpacking how we’ve built and cultivated six media brands with over 150M followers. We’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the world, like PepsiCo and Heineken, so we also wanted to look back at these partnerships and hear directly from some of our partners on the work we've done. Finally, we looked ahead at the social landscape, how things are changing, evolving and how we can help the brands we work with be part of that. Of course, we ended the night with some delicious Inch's cocktails, great music and amazing Twisted burgers 🧡

Brand Manager - Inch's Cider at The HEINEKEN Company

A pleasure to be part of the panel alongside Adam Foster at Jungle’s Upfronts event. We celebrated the launch of Inch’s partnership with Twisted, discussed Inch’s journey since launch and the secret recipe to an impactful partnership!   Twisted are one of the UK’s biggest social food publishers, reaching a whopping 16 million people across the Nation every month! Together, we have launched ‘Local Gems’, a delicious campaign which has leading UK creators Big Has, Alfie Cooks, Hey Renu and Twisted chefs, creating top tier recipes using locally-sourced ingredients, from within 40 miles of their location (just like the local apples used to make tasty Inch’s cider).   Creators embraced the brief and rustled up mouth-watering dishes, including Inch’s Cider-Braised Lamb Tacos & Inch’s Cider BBQ pork chops (yum!)   From URL to IRL: Tempted to try them out for yourself? A unique part of Twisted's offering is that they have a network of 50 restaurants around the UK. To drive trial of our delicious liquid, Inch’s cider-infused dishes are now available to enjoy in local Twisted restaurants up and down the UK, available to enjoy alongside a crisp pint of Inch's apple cider!   Stay tuned and follow @inchscider on Instagram for more updates & tasty recipes you can try at home! When England’s men’s team lose at a major tournament, domestic abuse rises by 38%. Let that sink in... In our Four Nine ‘No More Injury Time’ campaign we’re working with two incredible domestic abuse charities to help reduce the statistic. If you have anything to give, large or small, please donate to the Just Giving page https://lnkd.in/egiBkczZ. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Solace Women's Aid and NCDV - National Centre For Domestic Violence to help them continue their important work. As part of our campaign we created Shirt 38 - a football shirt with a message to anyone who has experienced or is experiencing domestic abuse: you are not alone. We’re giving three lucky people the chance to win a limited edition shirt. The competition is currently live on Four Nine’s Instagram, head over to our Instagram if you want to enter ❤️
