    Our CEO Melissa Chapman (she/her) spoke to The Media Leader UK about the new product launch from Netflix, 'Moments'. The new feature allows mobile users to pause their content, save their favourite clips and share to their social channels and with their friends. The launch “is evidencing how social conversations, dialogues and communities are ‘modern-day water-cooler chat’ environments”. The power of social isn't worth a debate anymore, is it? 🚀

    This year, the theme for Black History Month is ‘reclaiming narratives’, so Twisted spoke to Michelin-starred West African chef, Aji Akokomi, who has made it his mission to do just that. Nigerian-born Aji is the founder of two acclaimed London restaurants, Akoko and the newer Akara - both a celebration of African food and culture. When curating their menus, Aji tells us how he researched the origins of every dish, keen to understand the food eaten by his ancestors before the impact of slavery. "A lot of things that are now considered African – chillies, tomatoes, red bell peppers, onion, ginger, garlic – were actually brought into Africa. Even cassava, which is so, so popular in Africa [wasn’t initially from there].“ I realised that not only should we be using African produce but also learning about the techniques, the stories, the flavours…what makes something African?” he explains.     Can you bring back dormant social pages? 🤔 Sometimes, shows on Snapchat that seem dead just require a closer look and a fresh strategic approach to spot the content gaps! In May our Social Media Manager Morven McIntyre decided it was time for us to bring one of our shows back to life, so our platform team tested different edit styles, content types and some questionable captions to see what we could do. By June, we uncovered the key to the show's success. It may sound simple, but by offering creators a platform to share their unique life experiences - such as postpartum realities and health scares - we were able to tap into diverse perspectives and reach new viewers of various ages. Turning this one show around led to an incredible 460% boost in revenue in just one month! The team also had a lot of fun experimenting with new content ideas, interviewing fascinating creators, and pushing boundaries - well done!! 🏆🏆

    We are so proud to have partnered with The HEINEKEN Company this year to champion the great taste of their unrivalled cider, Inch's! 🍎 Rounding off what has been a great partnership, where Twisted chefs and foodie creators whipped up recipe content that stared Inch's Apple cider and locally sourced ingredients, and also allowed people to try our creations IRL, we were delighted to attend Heineken's two-day annual customer planning event in Wales this week. At the event, Heineken went into their top achievements from this year and plans for next year, delved into our incredible partnership with Inch's and of course we hand-delivered our delicious Inch’s infused Twisted donuts to over 1,000 guests! 🍩
