Our CEO Nathan Morgan has been featured in Energy Voice today on the need for clarity on the future of low carbon blue #hydrogen for the UK’s energy future.    Nathan outlined in the piece:    “This transition requires clarity on the production profiles of gas from the North Sea basin to ensure the UK produces the gas it will need for the coming decades.”    “Blue hydrogen, produced using natural gas with carbon capture and storage (CCS), offers a pragmatic and cost-effective pathway to decarbonisation.”    “Kellas Midstream is looking to sanction over £2 billion of investment in the H2NorthEast project. It was a pleasure to show Anna Turley, MP for Redcar, around our CATS terminal on Teesside this week. We discussed the role of blue and green hydrogen in supporting the energy transition and talked about our H2NorthEast blue hydrogen project to be built at CATS that is approaching the end of FEED. Blue hydrogen provides a means to rapidly decarbonise industry at scale while the rest of the UK’s infrastructure and renewable generation ramps up to meet the massive demands that will be placed on it. H2NorthEast will provide 1GW of low carbon hydrogen to support local industry decarbonisation. UK-produced natural gas processed at CATS will feed the plant with captured CO2 stored via the East Coast Cluster.
