Today marks week 8 of Future Labs! On this occasion, we are thrilled to feature Moonbility in our startup spotlight: Moonbility are an AI tech startup with proprietary self-healing algorithms that in this instance work with weak datasets to predict railway disruptions and provide alternative plans, minimising the impact on customers. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬. One of our team members saw a post from Ross on LinkedIn. After discussing it within the senior management team, we realised we had a great product fit for the program and decided to pitch. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲? Our solution aims to improve the customer experience during disruption. However, it must consider the complex ecosystem of existing systems and processes. The Future Labs team has been instrumental in helping us navigate this, ensuring our solution respects these complexities. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞? We need validation to ensure our product is accurate and appropriate for both passengers and internal use. Establishing the correct use case and supporting metrics is critical. Without the right metrics, there’s no business case or long-term contract opportunity. Therefore, our key objective is to validate the output metrics to demonstrate value. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬? Ideas into practice. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? In two years, we envision our product being fully integrated into the UK rail information system, providing trusted, impactful information to help customers make better decisions during disruptions. This week marks week 7 of Future Labs and we are thrilled to feature Cognition24! Cognition 24 is a travel companion for neurodiverse travellers, their Railpal app aims to make journeys easier by making travel information available and simple to understand and journeys more predictable. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬. We had actually been discussing the concept with our partners at Salesforce and that was where we were introduced to Futurelabs as a way of accelerating our ideas and assumptions into a proof of concept. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲? For train users, much less stress during travel. For the rail network, we believe this will have great benefits in smoothing passenger numbers and all the associated measures that go with that. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞? This is really the start of the journey. By creating a bridge to collaborate with the rail network, we hope to take not just this initial pilot to neurodiverse rail users but also develop a set of companion tools for all rail users looking to destress their journeys. Cohort 1 has officially graduated from the Maryland Innovation Lab! After an intensive boot camp early this year, where nine startups showcased their innovative solutions to an audience of over 100 attendees, six startups joined the lab for an intensive 10-week collaboration with Pompeian and Sodexo respectively. The journey culminated at the Demo Day event held last month where representatives from the Maryland Department of Commerce, World Trade Center Institute, Sodexo USA and Pompeian gathered in Baltimore to celebrate the remarkable progress made to support Sodexo and Pompeian pioneering efforts in the food sector. Congratulations to the startups and the different partners' teams for their dedication and hard work in making the program a success! This week marks week 6 and Mid-Point for Future Labs! Great progress was made by the teams over the past five weeks. We cannot wait to see the final results on Demo Day!! Today we're bringing you our fourth Supplier Spotlight, Cleancore Intelligence! 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Cleancore brings a data-driven approach to cleaning and maintaining train stations for our Train Operating Companies (TOCs), using IoT sensors to identify and verify what needs cleaning, and when. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬. As a company, we had previously applied for an earlier LMarks programme in the facilities management space. While we were unsuccessful in that application, LMarks actually reached out to us to apply for Future Labs, and we quickly found a lot of synergies with the rail industry for what we are doing today. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲?As we are providing new insights into maintaining the station facilities, our main benefit is being able to save time and resources across the network, while improving the customer experience. We will show with customer feedback data and audit reports, that we can help the TOCs do more with less. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞? We will deploy a pilot at a single station location, and develop new capabilities to solve specific challenges faced by station management while giving a new layer of data to help understand how best to keep stations clean and prevent issues from becoming complaints. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬? Engaged, Learning, Sharing 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? As we work across multiple industries, I expect us to begin to focus on a core set of features and problems to be solved. It will be ever more important to make sure new technologies such as AI and edge computing be harnessed as a tool to help us deliver more actionable insights, without loosing sight of those problems we are addressing for our customers. This week is week 5 of Future Labs! Today we're bringing you our third Supplier Spotlight, 1Huddle! 1Huddle is a game-based training and performance platform that uses AI-powered games to unlock critical insights into employee skills, interests, and engagement, improving workforce performance and reducing training time. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬. I learned about Future Labs via the L Marks team. Our company has been growing in the UK (with clients like TAO Hospitality) and was interested in the opportunity to work with a great group of best-in-class brands. We pitched our solution because we felt it would be a solid fit given that the call was for talent platforms that can rethink employee experience. We are doing that. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲?The ultimate benefit of 1Huddle? It’s a game-changer for everyone. For workers, it means more opportunities to level up their skills, giving them a clear path to grow and succeed. For managers, it’s less time spent on clunky, outdated training and more time driving the business forward. And for customers? They get a higher quality of service, delivered by teams that are sharper, faster, and more engaged. It’s a win-win-win. The platform isn’t just about training—it’s about creating a workforce that’s always getting better, while making the entire operation run smoother and more efficiently. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞? Through building strong relationships with the mentors in the program. We plan on really rolling up our sleeves, learning the business, and being a part of the team with solutions. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬? Redefining what’s possible 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? The ultimate success for us two years from now would be a world where workers on 1Huddle are able to win jobs faster and accelerate within organizations quicker – because they are more confident and prepared by playing 1Huddle.
