Mace turns ‘red’ for children in care and young care leavers🔴❤️ On Thursday 13 March, Mace colleagues, clients and supply chain partners supported our charity partner Become by turning ‘red’ for the day to raise funds for the thousands of children in care and care-experienced young people. ❓Did you know last year in England 13,050 young people left care on their 18th birthday. These young people often lack the family support that many of us take for granted. They face a tough transition to independence, often too quickly and without the right support. Imagine being made to leave care on your 18th birthday – that’s a harsh reality for many. Our ‘Go Red’ for Become campaign, not only raised funds but also helped us to learn more about what it’s like to be in care and hear from care-experienced young people. Understanding their stories helps us bust myths and raise awareness. Mace colleagues and projects around the world literally turned red for the day from wearing red to work to lighting up Mace projects including Chapter Living, Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 & 4, HMRC Newcastle Pilgrims Quarter, Manchester Town Hall, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Peterborough Court, Sadler’s Wells and Salisbury Square Development. We believe in the power of community and the importance of showing that we care. Powering the future of energy 💧🔋 We’ve partnered with PRIME INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL, INC. (PRIME INFRA) to bring our project management expertise to deliver critical hydroelectric power projects in the Philippines – the 600MW Wawa and 1,400MW Pakil plants. Mace will establish a structured PMO framework that will augment the efficiency, governance, and execution of Prime Infra’s existing management structure for the two large-scale pumped storage projects. We will implement a phased approach that covers all aspects of the project - people, organization, process, information and technology (POPIT), integrating these into a streamlined, transparent, and results-driven project management system. 💬 Guillaume Lucci, Prime Infra President and CEO, said: “Delivering the Wawa and Pakil projects on schedule is critical to meeting the country’s energy needs. 🎒🏫 Today marks the start of the school year in Peru, where the Bicentennial Schools (Escuelas Bicentenario) Programme is positively transforming over 118,000 students’ school experience by providing safe, climate-proof, high-quality learning environments. The 75-school public investment programme has already handed over 20 schools to communities all around the country, with the rest under construction and expected to be completed in early 2026. 3 years on from the start of our involvement, the programme continues to benefit from the technical assistance of the Koulu consortium, made up of Mace and Gleeds. Mace leads the joint venture, providing PMO, programme management and delivery assurance services crucial to the programme's success. Building capacity at Gatwick airport ✈️ We're excited to announce our role in building the £140m extension to London Gatwick's Pier 6! Exciting milestone at University of East Anglia!🚧 We are thrilled to announce that work has officially begun on the iconic Lasdun Wall at the University of East Anglia (UEA), one of Norfolk's largest construction projects. Set to complete in 2027, the building will be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility with new science labs, teaching and learning spaces to enhance the student experience. Playing a vital role in UEA's goal to be a net zero campus by 2045, energy-efficient designs and sustainable practices will reduce the building's carbon footprint. Transforming Infrastructure in Peru: NEC4 Contracts Now Available in Spanish! We have exciting news! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) is now available in Latin American Spanish. Developed with Mace and Gleeds support, this translation highlights the clarity, collaboration, and transparency that make NEC contracts so successful. At Mace, we take great pride in having introduced NEC contracts to Peru for the first time on the Lima 2019 Panamerican and Parapan American Games. These collaborative agreements reduce conflicts between clients and contractors contributing to emblematic projects such as Lima 2019, the Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura Reconstruction Program and Bicentennial Schools. We have dedicated ourselves to transferring knowledge to our clients and key stakeholders in the construction industry, encouraging the adoption and use of these contracts in Peru. This effort has transformed the local environment and solidified our legacy. In a country facing significant infrastructure challenges, we have managed to deliver better projects in less time. This success has inspired the Peruvian government to amend its laws, allowing both public and private entities to use NEC contracts within and beyond government-to-government (G2G) agreements. This measure ensures sustained improvements over time, benefiting millions of people.
