📣 Celebrating Our Trustees During Trustee Week! 📣 This Trustee Week, we want to shine a light on a vital team within Man On! Inverclyde / The Anchor – our incredible trustees. Their dedication and passion fuel what we do, and without their commitment, our mission simply wouldn’t be possible. We’d like to extend a special thank you to our founding trustees – Craig, Jason, William, and the entire team who started this journey with lived experience at the core of our work. Your courage and insight have been the foundation of our organisation, and your vision continues to guide us today. To all those who have supported us from those early days to now, your contributions have been invaluable. Each of you has played a role in helping us become who we are and in shaping our future. And to our current team: • Kay, our Chair, who leads with unwavering compassion and vision. • Shona, our Vice Chair, whose strength and support inspire us every day. • Kevin, our Treasurer, who ensures we remain sustainable and accountable. • Robert, our Secretary, who keeps us organised and grounded. • Francesca, our newest Trustee, whose passion and dedication are making a true difference. Together, you all make our work possible. Thank you for everything you do to make Man On! Inverclyde / The Anchor a beacon of hope, resilience, and support in our community. We are grateful every day for your leadership, kindness, and belief in our mission. Here’s to our trustees – past, present, and future. Without you, none of this would be possible! 🙌 #TrusteeWeek #ThankYouTrustees #ManOnInverclyde

🌟 Celebrating One Year of Suicide Prevention Training in Inverclyde 🌟 We’re proud to mark one year of delivering the ASIST programme from LivingWorks UK-EU, training over 120 people to make Inverclyde a suicide-safer community. From local authority staff, 3rd sector organisations, volunteers, community members with lived experience, and Inverclyde HSCP staff – your dedication is making a real difference. 🤝❤️ The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and our delivery team’s passion to educate and prevent suicide burns brighter than ever. With more opportunities to come in the year ahead, we’re building a stronger, safer community together. 💙 #SuicidePrevention #ASIST #Inverclyde #CommunitySupport #MentalHealthMatters

❗ Exciting News ❗ Man On! Inverclyde is evolving to "The Anchor" ⚓ We are thrilled to announce that as of Monday 2nd December 2024, we will officially be rebranding Man On! Inverclyde to become The Anchor. After months of planning and preparation with our members, we are excited to enter this new phase. To celebrate this transition, we’ll be hosting a re-launch evening on Friday, 29th November—an event that marks the beginning of this exciting new chapter for our staff, volunteers, trustees and our members. This transformation reflects our commitment to broadening our reach, supporting more people in our community, and becoming more inclusive. At the heart of our mission, we will continue to focus on suicide prevention—ensuring that everyone who needs help has access to it. While our name and look may be changing, the legacy of Man On! will live on through: Man On! Football Academy – empowering young people through sport ⚽ Man On Peer Support – a safe space for the men of Inverclyde in need of support 🗣️ The Anchor represents stability, connection, and belonging, clear values that will guide us as we work together to create a healthier and more supportive community. We can’t wait to launch the new chapter of our journey later in the year! #TheAnchor #CommunitySupport #InclusiveSupport #SuicidePrevention #ManOnLegacy #NewBeginnings

⚽️ Football Academy ⚽️ We were delighted to work in partnership with Greenock Juniors 2009s over the weekend, as 20 young people engaged with a residential camp at The National Sports Centre in Largs. An additional 14 young people engaged with various football activities over the weekend and all enjoyed the time spent with our staff, the Juniors coaches and each other. This partnership will be vital as we aim to support the young people in our innovative project, "Beyond the Pitch", helping to educate on mental health and keep the young team on the right pathway, whilst providing high quality, relationship-based football environments. Special mention for local lads Cameron Davis, Ethan Devenney and Jack Carrick for being named the team captains due to their attitude and leadership. Stay tuned for our Football Academy updates throughout the season, particularly through our partner Max Marner as he documents the journey. It was great to spend time with Max over the weekend.

Following our first Board meeting of 2024, we are delighted to announce Kay Gibson and Craig Archdeacon as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of our charity. Following an interview panel featuring our CEO Chris Paul, former Chairperson Craig Docherty and one of our young members, Logan, the wider Trustee team formally approved the commencement of their roles last night. Man On! has done tremendous work across our community since 2020, going well beyond our original strategic plan. 2025 - 2030 is on our minds, and we believe the strategic leadership from Kay and Craig will be vital on this journey. 🤝

Brilliant work from Sam and the wider partners, looking forward to seeing you all there!
Part of what we do at Man On! Inverclyde is to ask the community what they need from services and co-produce events and groups from their input. A lot of times, people in the community can't leave their surrounding for various reasons. This is why I have created the Community Outreach Programme to make sure those individuals can still access 3rd sector support on their doorstep. If you are local and have the time, pop along for a chat and a cuppa. Open to all😀 #suicideprevention #mentalhealthsupport #communityengagement #wellbeingmatters

Jamie’s Dad completed suicide in March of this year and he hopes to be able to share his story to help and inspire others, taking a voluntary role within our bereavement and postvention services.
