  • McBains NextGen We were delighted to welcome a fresh cohort to our NextGen programme for 2025 recently, as we continue our commitment to innovation and leadership development. The new participants were welcomed by Clive Docwra, Managing Director and Mark Leeson, Operations Director, alongside the initiative’s 2024 members who were responsible for selecting the programme’s new intake. Launched last year, our NextGen programme is designed to empower emerging leaders and provide them with a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the business. It seeks to foster collaboration, innovation and diverse perspectives to bring together different views, opinions and expertise to influence and inspire positive change. "The outgoing cohort leaves behind a legacy of impactful projects, setting a high bar for the incoming group but we’re confident that this new generation will bring a fresh set of ideas that will drive our business forward in new ways,” said Mark Leeson, Operations Director, “We very much look forward to working with the new intake and are excited to see the positive impact they're undoubtedly going to have on the business”. #NextGen #Innovation #Development #Leadership

    Assistant Project Manager at McBains

What a week it's been!   At McBains this week, we had the pleasure of hosting 5 first-year students from the Construction Management and Quantity Surveying programs at the University of Westminster for a work shadowing week A big thank you to Jack Rhodes and Moral Y. University of Westminster Careers and Employability Service for organising this initiative and giving me the chance to lead. It brings back memories of my own first year, when getting practical experience was a real challenge. We mainly covered essential topics such as Power Project Programme, updating Risk Assessments, Cash Flow Management, AutoCAD, CAD measurements, and Cost X, skills that I believe can be incredibly helpful in a career. Additionally, we aimed to provide valuable insights into the day to day responsibilities of project managers and quantity surveyors I also want to thank my amazing colleagues Salman Malik, Aba Yawson, and Sarah Haxell for dedicating their time and effort to setting up the activities and agenda, as well as for supporting the students. I'm looking forward to keep sharing our experiences and contributing to the growth of the next generation of industry professionals.
