We're reaching new heights with our latest project milestone! ✈️ Our Rail team is proud to announce that the installation of the glulam arches roof at Colindale tube station is complete, marking a major step in the station’s transformation! 🎉 The striking new roof design honours Colindale’s history by being inspired by the nearby Hendon Aerodrome. Despite facing some tough logistical challenges, we think it's safe to say the team's careful planning and flawless execution have definitely paid off. Our priority was to minimise disruption for commuters, so we meticulously planned the roof installation to take place during a limited 3-hour overnight window (over 4 consecutive nights) whilst Northern Line services are shut. And that's not all! Through conscious and sustainable decisions (reducing the amount of concrete in the structure AND the manufacturing process of glulam requiring significantly less energy), the team have managed to reduce the project's carbon impact. 🌍 We couldn't be prouder of this milestone! 🏆 Congratulations to our teams and supply chain partners involved! #Rail #ConstructionMilestone #SustainableBuilding #Colindale #TransportInfrastructure

📣 Another one of our projects has reached a MAJOR milestone! Our teams working with SSEN Transmission on the Gremista connection project in Shetland have welcomed the arrival of two new transformers to the Gremista Grid Supply Point (GSP). ⏬ Watch the video below to go behind the scenes on how these massive transformers arrived on site on the island (it's not an easy feat!). A massive well done goes to our teams and supply chain partners who worked on getting us the project to this point! 🙌 Elettromeccanica Tironi RRS Group #Energy #ProjectMilestone #Shetland #GremistaProject #TransmissionGrid
⚡️ Our Gremista connection project in Shetland has reached another major milestone, following the arrival of two new transformers to the Gremista Grid Supply Point (GSP). 🚛 The units – each weighing around 59 tonnes – were transported in convoy to the GSP, which is helping connect Shetland’s local electricity network to the national grid for the first time. 🔌 The project has included the creation of a 22km connection between the GSP and Kergord Substation, which was completed in 2024 as part of the Shetland HVDC link, using a combination of overhead line and underground cabling. ✅ The Kergord-Gremista link is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with Shetland fully connected to the national grid in 2026. ➡️ To find out more, head over to: https://lnkd.in/efJ5Z9iN
