🏘️ 34 new affordable homes are coming to Rhondda Cynon Taf / Mae 34 o dai fforddiadwy newydd yn dod i Rondda Cynon Taf 🤝 We’re pleased to continue to invest in affordable homes in Rhondda Cynon Taf by providing 34 homes across two new housing developments. The homes will be built in partnership with M & J COSGROVE CONSTRUCTION LIMITED and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council with funding from the Welsh Government Social Housing Grant Programme. 🔹 Cwmbach Development 17 two-bedroom bungalows 🛠️ The timber frame structures for this development will be constructed by Celtic Offsite, supporting local jobs and skills. 🔹 Tonyrefail Development 14 one and two-bedroom flats, 2 two-bedroom houses as well as a two-bedroom bungalow 🌱 Both developments will be built to the highest energy efficiency rating of EPC A. 👋 Meet Scott, our Digital Inclusion Officer. Scott has been working on Get Fit Wales - an innovative digital platform dedicated to transforming health and wellbeing across Wales. ✊ Today is #DeedsNotWords Day of Action – an initiative by Tai Pawb to make a difference through actions and not just words. Here are some actions we have taken at Newydd to tackle racial inequality in housing: ✅ Implemented the Rooney Rule – To attract and employ a greater diversity of applicants. ✅ We successfully recruited a Board member from an ethnic minority group using Dynamic Boards. ✅ We were successful in diversifying tenant involvement and recruited tenants for our new Cadarn Scrutiny Team from ethnic minority groups. ✅ We delivered EDI, Unconscious Bias, and Anti-Racism training to the new tenant Cadarn Scrutiny Team in January - we have a rolling programme for this training for staff. ✅ We proactively capture tenant equality profiles to tailor service to meet their diverse needs. We also undertake Equality Impact Assessments on our strategies and policies to ensure they are fair and transparent. ✅ We have increased our visibility on our estates by coordinating regular community pop ups – this helps build trust and improve communication with our tenants. ✅ We have also supported cultural events in our communities including the Hindu Cohesion Mandal, a chariot festival. #EveryActionCounts #EqualityMatters #QED
