The Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) is the council led representative body for local authorities in Northern Ireland. The Association is supported by political parties and independent members in councils, and works in partnership with other key regional bodies and stakeholders. NILGA members are drawn from each of the 11 councils. The Association supports and represents NI Local Government’s interests on regional bodies, within the Local Government Group of Associations in the UK, ROI and in Europe.

The Northern Ireland Local Government Association is delighted to support this year's PPMA - Public Services People Managers Association HR Rising Star NI event. The event is designed to assess personal qualities through a variety of activities, while also helping participants enhance their confidence and resilience. Eight HR professionals from across NI councils took part in this year's competition. Was pleased to facilitate a workshop session with Northern Ireland Local Government Association Strategic Policy Network (not COSLA despite the stationary) to explore what a missions framework means for local government in Mid Ulster District Council chambers. As part of Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) partnership with Northern Ireland Local Government Association, this was a really useful discussion on the opportunities and challenges afforded by a missions-focused draft Programme for Government.
