Tourism Northern Ireland (Tourism NI) is responsible for the development of tourism and the marketing of Northern Ireland as a tourist destination to domestic tourists (from within Northern Ireland) and visitors coming to Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland. Tourism NI is a non-departmental public body of the Department for the Economy. We work closely with other tourism bodies to develop the Northern Ireland tourism industry . These bodies include Tourism Ireland, which is responsible for marketing Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to Great Britain and overseas markets; and Visit Britain, which promotes the UK at an international level. Tourism Northern Ireland’s Meet the Buyer 2025 event came to a close in Lisburn today. Following a action-packed week of familiarisation trips, networking events and workshops, the much-anticipated annual gathering finished today at the Eikon Exhibition Centre. Around 5,000 one-to-one appointments took place during yesterday and today’s workshops. More than 200 local tourism businesses were able to meet face-to-face with 160 international buyers who travelled to Northern Ireland from 16 global markets. The local industry used the platform to showcase their tourism products with the aim of being included in future Northern Ireland travel itineraries. Nikki Paterson, Business Solutions Manager at Tourism Northern Ireland, said Meet the Buyer 2025 had been a “resounding success”. “From the familiarisation trips to the workshop meetings, we have received fantastic feedback from both the buyers and our local industry, all of whom left the final workshop today feeling inspired and motivated. “Meet this Buyer is a major event for our industry providing them with invaluable opportunities to showcase the rich and diverse range of tourism products we have on offer in Northern Ireland. “There is no doubt significant business was done over the past few days which will only raise the region's global profile moving forward.”
