Helping leaders solve their most important business problems

About us

Oaklin is an independent management consultancy. We advise leaders, shape transformation and drive delivery. Our values are fundamental to who we are, what we do, and how we do it. Our work connects strategy with execution and translates aspiration into reality. We focus on understanding and finding solutions to our clients’ biggest challenges. To do this, we place small teams of experts to work alongside our clients, working with rather than for them, in high-impact roles that make a real difference to each organisation. Our consultants are great at what they do. At Oaklin, we deploy small teams of consultants to work directly with our clients to make a real difference. One day you could be supporting a client with vendor selection for a major ERP implementation. Another day you could be supporting the culture change and transformation for a newly established joint venture. The work we do is varied and our consultants are able to continuously learn new skills from project to project. We are thrilled to be included on the list of UK's Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services. We take immense pride in nurturing an environment that uplifts and empowers our team members to reach their full potential. Together, we create a community where diversity is embraced, collaboration flourishes and every voice is valued. The Oaklin team recently gathered in Regent’s Park for some sun, fun and games after work. While the sun may not have shined, that didn’t stop the fun and games! 🏏 🍕   Setting up rounders and croquet in the park, the team took the opportunity to catch up with colleagues over pizza and a bit of healthy competition.    At Oaklin, our social events are key for fostering a sense of community that reflects our core values of Connected, Inclusive, and Team. These events help us build stronger bonds, promote well-being, and make a positive impact beyond the workplace, all while aligning with what matters most to us as a company. #oaklin #team #inclusive #connected

🌟 Earlier this month, we had the privilege of hosting The School of Life to talk about Resilience in the Workplace. Team members across our firm thoroughly enjoyed attending the workshop. Thank you to Maurits Kalff MBPsS for running a very informative session on a crucial topic, centered on helping employees overcome the inevitable challenges and stresses we so often meet in the professional world. Some of our key takeaways include: 1) Resilience is not about “getting over it”. Resilience is about moving forward, accepting loss and change, and embracing mistakes and failures as a chance to develop. 2) Experiencing change and setbacks can be difficult, as resilience is affected by the development of core beliefs early in life. 3) Adopting a new viewpoint is an important part of building resilience, to be able to take a new perspective on difficult events. 4) Developing individual mantras, or phrases, of positivity can help propel us forward. 5) Being conscious of thought patterns and what the body is telling you is an important factor in developing resilience. 6) Keeping a journal in which to voice and reflect on your fears can also help. Thank you to The School of Life for an insightful session.   #schooloflife #resilience #workplace #healthandwellbeing #workplacesupport

The 2023 UK’s Best Workplaces in Consulting and Professional Services™ list was launched by Great Place To Work UK, recognising Oaklin among some other great organisations. We talked to Rahima Chairi, a Consultant at Oaklin, about why she thinks Oaklin is a Great Place to Work: “The people, culture and the way we go above and beyond to do the right thing for our clients are what makes Oaklin such a great place to work. Not only is each person empowered to bring their own ideas and their authentic selves to work, but there is also a strong sense of teamwork, camaraderie and willingness to help and collaborate across the firm, whether it is to brainstorm new client solutions, or to reach internal milestones within our communities. Oaklin delivers excellent client solutions, whilst preserving its ‘people first’ mentality in everything it does”. #greatplacetowork #employeengagement #oaklin #managementconsulting

💫 At Oaklin, staying connected to each other as we grow is a top priority. That is why we have an annual tradition of taking the whole team outside the M25 and organising a busy 24 hours, filled with lots of socialising and strategic thinking for the year ahead.   This year we rivalled Glastonbury and had our very own "OakFest" in Amersham. We regrouped, reconnected, and had a lot of fun.   We also had the pleasure of hearing from Jo Salter MBE. She shared her experience in becoming the UK's first female fighter jet pilot, and the resilience it required from her. Resilience is a key skill in consulting, an industry which often involves working in unfamiliar and demanding environments, and one that we are developing as a team strength.   Thank you very much to everyone who played a part in organising such a rewarding event. #oakfest #oaklin #awayday #resilience #consulting

What could a modern energy system look like after the recent election? Last week, Innes Coward, Lottie Gibbons, and Noa Rogers attended the UK Energy Policy Debate at the Energy Institute, where members from Energy UK, Citizens Advice, Ofgem, and National Grid ESO discussed 'Delivering on plans to modernise the UK energy system'. The event was perfectly timed, just a few weeks after the general election, and provided valuable insights into the future of the UK's energy landscape: 🏠 Consumer Centricity: The consensus was clear - consumers must be at the heart of every level of the energy industry from generation to transmission and into policy. As decarbonisation responsibilities shift to consumers, energy companies should focus on engaging consumers through exceptional customer experiences. Energy policy should provide robust protections, especially for those at risk of being left behind in the energy transition. 📊 Leveraging Data: Data will unlock immense opportunities for the industry to support those living in energy poverty and encourage the adoption of green technologies. To achieve this, the energy industry must tackle the challenges of defining requirements for monitoring, data standardisation, and security. 🌍 Investment and Skills: Continued investment in infrastructure could secure the UK as a global leader in energy transformation. However, the industry must invest in its workforce, scale apprenticeship schemes, make the energy sector attractive to work in, and address the skills gap created by accelerating technologies. Big thanks to the speakers Julian Leslie, Eleanor Warburton, Andy Manning, and chair Dhara Vyas for the engaging discussions! #energypolicy #consumerfocus #datadriven #infrastructure #skillsdevelopment #energytransformation #postelectionenergy
