📢 Just Launched: GEM Report UNESCO 2024/25 Report "Lead for Learning" https://lnkd.in/egAv7ixA At PEAS, we see school leaders as the spark for change. This focus on school leadership is long overdue! We’re thrilled to see PEAS female leaders recognised in this year's report. In the communities we serve, especially rural areas, our female school leaders are more than just educators—they’re powerful role models and advocates for safer, more inclusive schools. Empowering female leaders transforms school culture, boosts student engagement, and ensures girls have the supportive environment they need to succeed. Let’s continue to break down barriers and open doors for the next generation of female leaders. Together, we’re building a brighter, more equitable future for all students! #LeadershipInEducation #FemaleLeadership #GenderEquality
PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools)
Non-profit Organizations
Supporting every child to access quality secondary education in Africa.
About us
PEAS is transforming education across sub-Saharan Africa. Each year we support 200,000 young people, in marginalised communities across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana. We work hand in hand with governments so all young people can learn in a safe, inclusive environment. We draw on 16 years practical experience running one of the largest, not-for-profit secondary school networks in sub-Saharan Africa. Our award-winning programmes are designed and delivered by Africans for Africans. Evidence shows our students come from poorer households and make faster learning progress. And our girls are more confident and better equipped for life after school.

"You have to let the "customer" own it and enjoy the journey - you walk alongside them, and you are available to support when they need you, and give it time. It takes time." PEAS' Daniel Kyasanga spoke about what it takes to build a successful government partnership during Global Schools Forum's webinar last week. He shared how PEAS co-designed and implemented the Inspect and Improve Programme with government to empower school leaders with the skills and support needed to drive long-term improvements across schools If you missed it, but want to learn more about our partnership with government, watch this video https://lnkd.in/e_cgcRW7 And for a deeper dive into the programme, check out our case study in GSF's new evidence hub. https://lnkd.in/eMTP_8Y8 #governmentpartnership #partnerships #InspectandImprove #partnershipsineducation

It was wonderful to bring together friends of Impact Network and PEAS at the Gala for Impact to celebrate our partnership and raise vital funds to support education in Africa. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Gala for Impact! Special thanks to our Impact Network Board members and Leo Lion Foundation for helping make the event such a success. Together with PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools), we’re thrilled to expand our reach, bringing quality education to over 200,000 of the most underserved students across 376 schools in Zambia, Uganda, and Ghana each year. When we opened our first classroom in Joel village, reaching hundreds of thousands of children felt like a distant dream—but today, it’s a reality. Thank you all for making this possible!

At PEAS, we believe every girl deserves the chance to live a Big Life, free from obstacles to education. This Christmas, you can help make that vision a reality through the Big Give. From Tue 3rd Dec to Tue 10th Dec, every donation made to PEAS will be matched, doubling your impact. Meaning every £35 raised will pay for a year’s education for a girl in Africa. By investing in these girls’ futures, you’ll be equipping them to break the cycle of poverty and unlock their full potential. Give the gift of education this Christmas. Mark your calendars and join us in this campaign to empower adolescent girls to live a Big Life. Read more about the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/dUTfJYE2

PEAS is excited to announce a partnership with the Hempel Foundation which will improve education quality for over 45,000 primary school children in Zambia. Through this partnership, we will take our tried and tested school improvement programme to 70 primary schools in Northern and Eastern Province. In partnership with the Hempel Foundation and the Zambian #MinistryofEducation, we will empower rural school leaders through PEAS' continuous improvement model, enhancing student safety, attendance, and teaching quality. PEAS has been working with primary schools in Zambia since 2021 because for marginalised young people to complete secondary education, they need a strong foundation, and our school improvement approach has cross-cutting impact. This initiative supports PEAS' mission to help all young people access quality education and the Hempel Foundation’s goal of empowering children to learn, through cost-efficient and scalable interventions. We’re thrilled to partner with the Hempel Foundation and can’t wait to see the positive impact we’ll create together in the years to come!
