We were blown away by the pupils of South Lanarkshire yesterday! 🤯 They joined us in East Kilbride for our Celebration Event with SSE plc as pupils put their engineering skills to the test! The models they built had to pass a series of challenges, and they had to showcase their engineering knowledge in interviews. The communication, designs and enthusiasm was inspiring ⭐ Our Partnership with SSE has seen us work with 𝟯𝟬 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 across South Lanarkshire last year, another 𝟯𝟬 this year and 𝟯𝟬 more next year - that's over 𝟱𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘀 getting a hands-on experience of engineering in the classroom. 💪 I wonder how many engineers they have helped inspire... Our webinar "Outreach and Social Value the easy (and effective) way" is open for next week, come along and learn how we approach what we do! 📅 Date & Time: April 1st at 2pm 📍 Register here: https://lnkd.in/eCVfFxrC
Does outreach 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬? According to some of the teachers, pupils and partners we have worked with - our approach seems to. For 20 years Primary Engineer have been working with organisations, institutions and government bodies in the engineering industry to deliver high-impact STEM engagement while achieving real, measurable social value. One thing I have learnt from my 3 years here is that creating a memorable experience for young people leads to meaningful impact - but that is just part of the story. Next week my colleagues Andrew Norris & Natasha Kinnear are hosting a webinar discussing our approach and shedding some light on how you can deliver outreach and social value the easy (and effective) way. Anyone who is interested in doing more school outreach, measuring their current activity or generally just looking to celebrate their industry please join us at 2pm on April 1st! Help us show young people that ANYONE can be an engineer. Learn more here >>> https://lnkd.in/eJ_6xb5M Sarah Dean Shelley Hainsworth #EngineersInTheMaking

Today we were with Thales for another brilliant grading day! ✍ Thales are national partners of the competition and will be hosting FIVE Grading days at their sites across the UK this year! 🤯 Each year tens of thousands of pupils aged 3-19 from around the UK answer the question “If you were an engineer, what would you do?” as part of our annual Leaders Award competition! These entries are sent to us and then we take them on a road trip to be read and graded by engineering professionals. Every single pupil who enters receives their very own personalized certificate! Huge thank you to everyone who was involved 👏 Take a look what other gradings days we have coming up: https://lnkd.in/e-8tYZgp Caitlin Fletcher-Scott Louisa Parsons Andrew Norris Natasha Kinnear Christopher Rochester Daniel Summerfield Scott Dalgleish Colin Scouller Roxanne McIlvenny
