Earlier this week, Anna Rose, Chair of PUBLIC PRACTICE, attended the Housing Community Summit in Liverpool. This flagship event, co-hosted by the National Housing Federation (NHF) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), brought together over 2,000 senior leaders to discuss the future of social housing in the UK. Planning reform, affordable housing and development capacity were key themes addressed at the summit. These discussions highlight the importance of equipping local government with the resources and diverse skills to tackle complex spatial challenges. We believe that with the right support, public sector officers can lead the way in creating inclusive, sustainable environments for all. Part of our mission involves recruiting and empowering diverse placemaking professionals within local government to influence long-term decisions that shape everyday places. We are committed to building capacity within the public sector, ensuring it has the expertise and resources to meet the evolving needs of our communities.
