While some of our team are in Cannes for MIPIM, others took to the streets of London for a different kind of networking – the exigere 'Not Going to MIPIM' run. Organised by Mital Dholakia, Partner, the run brought together industry colleagues for fresh air, good company, and a great way to start the day. 𝟭 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 - 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱! Also known as Caltex House, this iconic building is the last remaining large office space in Knightsbridge. The approved plans will transform the existing 1950s structure into a 10-storey, 394,000 sq ft development featuring premium #office space, as well as #restaurant and #retail spaces at ground level. The project will retain 51% of the existing building's mass in situ, with reuse and recycling measures meaning that 81% of the mass will be retained on site We look forward to seeing this project come to life. As part of our annual Engineering Services industry #engagement initiative, we’ve started the year with a roundtable discussion – the first in a series of planned industry engagement events. Hosted at our office, this session brought together consultant engineers to discuss ‘The MEP preconstruction process – can we improve?’, covering everything from #procurement models and design #collaboration to risk management and technical coordination. And this is just the beginning. Next, we’ll continue the conversation with main contractors during our roundtables and engage with subcontractors as part of our road trips – ensuring we stay connected across the industry and continue to provide informed support to our clients. A big thank you to everyone who attended and shared their experience, knowledge, and insights - - David Moseby, GDM - Ragz Padayachi, NDY - Clive Williamson, Hoare Lea - Peter Hale, Sweco - Martin Murphy, Hilson Moran - Robert Marney CEng MCIBSE, Cundall - James Quiggin, Scotch Partners And of course, a special thanks to our exigere hosts: Martin Broughton, Simon W., Chris Zerdzinski, Jarrel Henry MRICS, and Georgia Sheldon. If you have passed through Clapham Junction station recently, you may have caught a glimpse of the wonderful new rooftop pavillion and restored cupola that sit proudly on top of the iconic Arding & Hobbs building, just a stone's throw from the busy travel hub. Our project here with W.RE comprised the sensitive restoration, refurbishment and extension of the iconic Grade II listed building that had served as a department store for many years. Last week, we were out and about for National Apprenticeship Week 2025, meeting future talent and sharing insights into #careers in the #construction and #property industries. We kicked off the week at The Knights Templar School in Hertfordshire, followed by Tuesday at Hackney Town Hall, where we joined the London Borough of Hackney to connect with aspiring apprentices. On Thursday, we were at The Courtyard Islington, continuing the conversation and highlighting the #opportunities available. At exigere, we're committed to supporting the next generation of cost consultants. Right now, we have nine #apprentices working towards their Quantity Surveying degrees at UCEM, and we welcome new apprentices every year as part of our investment in the future of our industry. It was great meeting everyone who attended! If you're interested in exploring #apprenticeship opportunities, get in touch - we'd love to share more about the pathways available and how you can get started.
