Our Student Village development for the University of Staffordshire has been progressing incredibly on-site over the past six months. The video prepared by Evercam showcases the construction journey of the cluster blocks and townhouses, beginning at the Remagin Light Gauge Steel Frame factory, where walls are prefabricated, and windows are fully installed. It then moves to the bathroom pods factory of Offsite Solutions, where en-suites are prepared and ready for on-site installation. Thanks to Willmott Dixon for sharing the video and we look forward to sharing further updates! Fira Landscape Ltd HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd Ramboll

Great news from the North West: In Blackburn, our design for Perspex International’s £40m expansion streamlines operations, enhancing efficiency and sustainability. The new polymerisation hall and energy centre will support modern manufacturing while reducing environmental impact. https://lnkd.in/dTbF2FvT

We are please to announce that our multi-phase scheme for Perspex International has been grated planning approval. 🥳 This was my first project to get across the line after the BNG requirements became mandatory, the site had many other unique challenges to address in its development. We worked closely with Clancy Consulting, Hart Process Services and the Client to produce a scheme that will streamline the manufacturing facility for an more eco-friendly future. Operations director, Bryan Welch, said the investment will build upon the company’s relationship with Darwen. “Perspex first came to the town during the Second World War as it was seen as a safe place for the plant, which was manufacturing Spitfire canopies,” he said. “Perspex acrylic has been a leading brand in plastic since the 1930s and Darwen is the only production site for Perspex across the whole of the UK.” He added: “This major new investment demonstrates our commitment to the town, it will allow us to modernise and streamline the way we work and allow us to become much greener – reducing CO2 emissions and water consumption, something we are passionate about.” In fact the Perspex plant was originally built in Darwen as it was the foggiest place in the UK in the 1930s and it was thought that this would help hide the facility from air raids.
