Market Place is to open a new site close to St Paul’s early next year under plans to double the size of its estate. The London-based street food market operator is aiming to add a total of three sites to its portfolio in 2025, which will bring its total number of markets to six.

The team behind highly-rated Islington Indian food pubs The Tamil Prince and The Tamil Crown will venture south of the river for the first time early next month with a new casual dining concept. Located on Clapham’s Northcote Road in the space that was most recently home to vegan restaurant VE Kitchen, Tamila is out to ‘redefine the curry house’ with a roti and curry-focused menu that has been trialled the Hackney Bridge food hall in Hackney Wick.
