About us

Salix Homes is a multi-award winning social housing provider based in Salford, Greater Manchester. We began our journey in 2007 when we launched as an arms length management organisation (ALMO) operating on behalf of Salford City Council. In 2014 our tenants voted for us to take over ownership of their homes from the council. In March 2015 we officially moved away from the council and became a stand-alone Registered Provider (RP) responsible for providing the people of Salford with the high-quality homes they deserve.     The Customer Service Team is often the first point of contact for our customers and can be expected to answer questions about any aspect of the business, from repairs, rents, anti-social behaviour, environmental services and more. The team works rotating shift patterns from both the office and from home, taking incoming calls, answering customer emails, monitoring webchats and assisting with our remote concierge service. Yesterday our Executive Director of Customers and Communities Sian Grant spent time with Customer Service Officer Jenna Reed, learning what it's like to work in the Control Room, where the team need to juggle answering customer service calls and providing door entry for our high-rise residents. #NCSW2024

    As part of our National Customer Service Week activities, our Executive Director of Resources Eric Tamanis spent time in our Customer Contact Centre to learn how the team provide support and advice to our customers. Eric was call shadowing with Ethan Swift, one of our Customer Service Officers and tomorrow it'll be Executive Director of Customers and Communities Sian Grant's turn to put on the headset. #NCSW2024 #EffectiveServiceLeadership

    We believe that colleagues should always be treated with dignity and respect. We’re launching our new Service with Respect campaign to raise awareness, encourage reporting, and ensure that all colleagues feel supported when dealing with difficult situations. Ahead of Service with Respect Day, we have also introduced new ‘Service with Respect’ signage in reception, along with a message on our phone systems, informing customers that we have zero tolerance for abusive conduct. #NCSW2024
