Yesterday our Managing Director, Phil Mayall, joined UK PropTech Association (UKPA)'s "Building Resilience & Growth in the Year Ahead" event. Supported by Google and in association with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, the event brought together leaders, innovators and policymakers to explore the #PropTech landscape. Phil joined speakers from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, SEGRO plc, Google Cloud, PUBLIC and Alpha Property Insight to share insights, explore #innovation and #collaboration, and draw lessons from #DigitalTransformation in other industries. It was great to see so many organisations come together and engage in such meaningful conversations, especially in the amazing backdrop of Google’s event space. Plans submitted for Passivhaus homes in Salford Our ECF #partnership has submitted plans for a further 42 #affordable, #Passivhaus homes at Crescent Salford. Designed by dRMM, the new homes will form part of #AdelphiVillage, a #community to the east of the River Irwell, and one of six zones that make up the £2.5bn Crescent Salford masterplan. Residents will benefit from reduced energy bills of up to 90% compared to traditional housing, a comfortable living environment, enhanced ventilation, and sustainable design and build. Our Senior Development Manager, Alex Vogel, joined the Unlock Net Zero Stage advisory panel this afternoon for a discussion, ahead of Housing 2025. Sector leaders got together to discuss the core #netzero, #sustainability and #retrofit challenges and priorities facing the #housing sector, to help shape a compelling programme of content for the event. Cushman & Wakefield's Ben Pretty kicked off, sharing his expertise in developing and appraising the case for public sector intervention and what levers are available to address #viability. Our Development Director, Simon Dew, talked about the importance of #partnerships to unlock urban #regeneration, for example our work in #Bradford, #Rotherham and #StocktononTees. Bradford Council's David Shepherd shared his views on why cities can’t stand still and why they need to regenerate to stay alive. And Addleshaw Goddard's Anna Heaton outlined the challenges facing local authorities and public institutions on large scale infrastructure, transport and regeneration projects.
