Standing room only all day long at the 'AI and Emerging Tech' stage this Tuesday at MAD//Fest. It's a hot topic and my questions remained "Is AI the new name for Emerging Tech? Is the AI term overused? and where are we on the hype cycle?". I introduced and had a front row seats to 8 exceptional keynotes and hosted 2 panels looking at landed use cases, ethics and regulation. This is obviously a white hot space and it's reassuring to see the breadth of understanding and applications that are being surfaced today. Wow - first Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and it did not disappoint. What a wonderful week, full of inspiration, good people and great ideas. There were many highlights and hundreds of great conversations (far too many to mention)! My favourite highlight has to be the wonderful panel I took part in hosted by AudioStack alongside Teads and Wavemaker, NumberEight. A brilliant panel reminding me of the amazing things that happen when we collaborate in the industry. And as for Say It Now - we are small but mighty 💪🏼. Voice is definitely part of the conversation more than ever before. It was clear that there is a universal interest and opportunity to use actionable ads cross-channel. Happy days indeed. As this was my first Cannes it meant I was asking a lot of questions pre event so some special thanks goes to Silke Zetzsche, Lina Adelt and Maria Cadbury for being the best advice givers and inspirations. It’s a pleasure to work with you all from afar. And I can’t forget Charles Cadbury who steers a brilliant ship and is a pleasure to work with every day. Until next year -
