Congratulations to our Align JV colleagues, a joint venture between Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd, who installed the last segment of the 2.1 mile (3.4 km) long Colne Valley Viaduct yesterday, achieving another key milestone for HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd. This is a historic moment as the Colne Valley Viaduct, which is made up of 1,000 uniquely shaped segments, has now become Britain's longest rail bridge. This record had previoulsy been held by the 3.3km Tay Bridge between Fife and Dundee since 1887.
