For National Apprenticeship Week, we are celebrating two members of the Studio Lime team who are progressing their architectural education through the apprenticeship route. Lewis is working towards his RIBA Part 3 charter-ship through a Level 7 apprenticeship at University of the West of England. Piers is looking to complete both his RIBA Part 2 and RIBA Part 3 through a Level 7 Apprenticeship at University of the West of England, working and studying in tandem. We were also delighted to be awarded The Best Newcomer award at University of the West of England's National Apprenticeship Celebration Evening at Bristol Beacon. #NAW2025

Today we had a very interesting site visit to our Paul's Place project for our RSAW student mentees Aoife, Matthew and William of Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd and University of Wales Trinity Saint David Thank you to Richard Rendell and Oakland Construction Ltd. for showing us around.

Construction has started at remodelling and refurbishment of Shire Way Community Centre in Yate, to create a new centre for the Paul's Place charity group. The charity provides social activities for adults with physical disabilities, reducing isolation, improving their health and wellbeing, and giving them a chance to develop new skills. It is hoped the new hub will meet increasing demand for its services, with a community café, allotment, accessible gym and sensory room planned. Studio Lime have recently completed a remodelling and refurbishment of the reception, circulation and courtyard spaces of City of Bristol College's College Green Campus. The project includes a remodelled entrance, a new public cafe, new office spaces, new welfare and a newly landscaped courtyard space. Planning approval has been granted for a 7 unit extension to Millbrook Hospital in Wythenshawe, Manchester for Alternative Futures Group. The extension to the existing independent hospital that provides 7 new bedsits to support independent living, with new landscaped areas. This is to meet the demand for additional mental health support in the Manchester area, whereby more space is neededto support individuals in their journey to rejoining the community. Mill brook Independent Hospital offer person-centred support for adults with complex mental health needs, with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery, reablement, crisis intervention and relapse prevention. Works are due to commence on site in Summer 2025. Congratulations to everyone involved. Congratulations to Studio Lime’s Chanel Goodman for passing her RIBA Part III at the University of the West of England.  She can now register with the Architects Registration Board.    A very well deserved achievement after all of your hard work.
